We are contracted with Vision Source and have over 1,000 name brand frames in stock. No appointment is necessary to view our glasses and we have 4 certified paraoptometric technicians eager to help patients find the perfect pair for their vision as well as their pocket books. We also have a wide variety of Contact Lens options, supplying over 20 brands and at competitive pricing. We are conveniently located on 32nd Street in Joplin and are open 5 days a week, averaging 1 Saturday a month to better serve our clientele. With school starting back up, let's talk about children's eye care.
The American Optometric Association recommends a comprehensive eye exam before the age of one year old, another before five years old, and yearly after six years old. Factors that increase a baby or child’s risk of eye problems are having an eye turn, premature birth, down syndrome, and having parents with myopia (nearsightedness).

Vision screening programs (in schools or pediatric offices) can't substitute for regular professional vision care. Children who pass a vision screening could still have an eye health or vision problem. Comprehensive eye examinations are the only effective way to confirm or rule out any eye disease or vision problem. Full exams include:
-Patient and family health history.
-Visual acuity measurement.
-Preliminary tests of visual function and eye health, including depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision and pupil testing.
-Assessment of refractive status to determine the presence of nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism.
-Evaluation of eye focusing, eye teaming and eye movement abilities.
-Eye health examination.
-Additional tests as needed.

We have conducted a fun poll within our office staff. Here you will find out a little more about each employee.
Cathy started with us back in 2020, and has brought such a sweet feel to the office. She is always smiling and always happy. Everyone loves to be around her. She was voted to always have the office picked up and cleaned up and always first to jump in and pick up a mess if needed. If we need anything, she is right there willing to help. Life is better with her in it. We enjoy our work days more when she is around.

We have conducted a fun poll within our office staff. Here you will find out a little more about each employee.
Shannon originally started with us in 2010. If you have had an exam through us, you have almost guaranteed to have seen this one. She was voted to have the most one on one with the patients, for she is always interacting with them from walking into the door saying hello, to pre-screening every patient that goes in to see the drs. When she isn’t pre-screening, she will help in optical on occasion or help with the front desk. She has a demeanor that can work with almost every patient. We are lucky to have her and her willingness to adjust to every situation.

Amanda started with us last year, and had brought a shine to our office that we didn’t realize we were missing. She was voted to be most shy, but also one that talks the most. She is quiet at first, but will keep going after a few minutes of knowing you. She brings positivity to everything. We found a good one when we found this one.

Shaina is our office manager and has been with us for 19 years. She loves the office and everyone that is part of it. She was voted by EVERYONE in the office to be the most spontaneous and practical joker. You never know what she will have up her sleeve or the ideas she will have to dive into. She was also voted to be the office clown and most fun to party with. She likes to keep things fun, but serious where needed. She loves and appreciates the staff on a daily.

Andrea started in 2014 and just had her 10 year anniversary with us. She is a hard working dedicated woman that very much pays attention to detail and is very knowledgeable. She was voted most hyper for she has a lot of energy and is passionate about what she does daily. We love her dedication and quick learning, and the office is a better place with her in it.

Amber has been with us for 10 years this year. If you have walked into our office, you have seen her memorable face. She was voted sweetest and can literally charm anyone. She is great at turning the frowns upside down! This goes with patients and staff. She is great to be around and always has a positive vibe. You’ll find her anywhere in the front office from the check-in, to helping with glasses, to checking out. She is truly a gem to be around. You can’t help but smile around her.
