START YOUR ENGINES! “Zero To Zoom” is the theme for the 2026 Freeman 5K and Walk For Autism, set for April 18 at the Bill & Virginia Leffen Center For Autism. Last year, more than 800 folks came together to support local children and families affected by autism, and all proceeds benefit program development and scholarship assistance for Leffen Center families. If you plan to wear an on-theme costume, be creative with your vehicle- and race-themed attire! This event is at your own pace, so you can participate in the 5K run or one-mile walk. As a comfort to Ozark Center clients of all ages, from youth to seniors, who are struggling and in crisis, Ozark Center purchased an assortment of “crisis cuddle buddies” for distribution to those who can use a lift. The plush toys were purchased with funds donated by Ozark Center employees. Because sometimes, it really is the little things.
