Another member starting his engineer training today. We love to see them make it this far and progress!!! The goal is to have all our members cross trained in all scenarios so they can act at the drop of a hat. All firefighters on our agency become drivers and keep those skills just as sharp as the basic firefighter skills.

There is smoke multi county wide settling in all areas as well. It is difficult for units to pinpoint where the origins are but know that the smoke extends from the Mt Vernon area all the way to Oklahoma and Arkansas area lines as well. Please take extra caution with any burning of trash or dumping of ashes as crew may be spread thin. Be safe!

An unseasonably warm and dry airmass with low afternoon humidity will result in an elevated fire risk the rest of today and again on Saturday.
