With the recent ongoing rains, we face a new set of dangers. Fortunately, wildland fire response numbers remain near zero.

The current risk has shifted to flooding, as several days of heavy rainfall are causing rivers and streams to overflow their banks. Be vigilant about flooding, and respect barricades—these are there for your safety. Allow extra time for travel, and avoid driving into floodwaters, which can delay or even prevent your journey altogether.

This past weekend, Redings Mill Fire Protection Agency, along with American Red Cross of Missouri were able to attend and successfully interact and install smoke detectors at a prescheduled and planned event. Crews worked in small teams to divide and conquer and were able to interact with 46 citizens, many of them being children, see 17 homes, and installed 32 alarms!
This was done at a local trailer home park, Carefree Mobile Home Park.
We appreciate all that made this successful and thanks to our citizens for inviting us in to help you become more safe and allowing us to educate you on more than just smoke detectors!

Another member starting his engineer training today. We love to see them make it this far and progress!!! The goal is to have all our members cross trained in all scenarios so they can act at the drop of a hat. All firefighters on our agency become drivers and keep those skills just as sharp as the basic firefighter skills.
