During this holiday season and every season after we know you may want to have an adult beverage.

Here are a few things to remember before you grab for a glass:

*Alcohol Slows Muscle Repair-
Alcohol reduces protein synthesis, which is your body’s ability to repair and rebuild muscle after training or injury.

* Alcohol Increases Inflammation
It triggers an inflammatory response, which means more soreness, slower healing, and decreased performance.

* Alcohol Disrupts Sleep Quality
You may fall asleep fast, but alcohol cuts into deep sleep, the stage where true recovery and hormone regulation happen.

* Alcohol Dehydrates Your Body
Less hydration means tighter muscles, slower circulation, and impaired detox pathways. (This is also dangerous if you will be using a suana or following the sauna) You want to drink lots of water and electrolytes.

*Alcohol Impacts the Nervous System
