What did you do during spring break?
Today, responded to a bedroom fire after a phone charger caught fire and spread to curtains, carpet, and other items in the room.
A quick thinking 12 year old, who turns 13 this Saturday, took immediate action. He removed the burning items from the home, stopping the fire from spreading further. He then alerted a neighbor, who brought over a fire extinguisher and helped put out the remaining fire.
Because of their fast actions, what could have been a serious house fire was kept under control. Damage was limited and no one was injured.
This is a strong reminder that fires can start quickly from everyday items. Acting fast and having the right tools nearby can make all the difference.
Great job and happy early birthday.
