It's been a while since I introduced myself!
My name is Leandre Tankersley, and I’ve been practicing massage therapy for nearly 30 years...whew, time flies!
I began my journey at Hocking College, where I completed the Massage Therapy Course. In January 1998, I passed my state board exams through the Ohio State Medical Board and earned my Limited Practitioner’s Certificate. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Ohio and am also certified by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
Over the years, I’ve continued to grow my skills through specialized training in Polarity Therapy, Healing Through the Energy Field, Cupping, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, and more. But honestly, my greatest teacher has been time: learning to trust my hands, to read the body I’m working on, and to understand that each client is a unique map to explore.
I love the instant gratification of hearing a client say, “I feel so much better,” as soon as they get off the table. Those words make my heart sing. Many clients live with chronic pain due to injuries, medical conditions, aging, or ongoing stress. While I can’t always provide permanent relief, even helping someone feel better for a few days or weeks can make a real difference in their day-to-day life. For many, regular sessions, sometimes as little as once a month, help them function and feel better overall.
One of the most important things I’ve learned over the years is the value of communication. I encourage clients to share what they’re feeling and what they hope to achieve before we begin. More importantly, I want you to speak up during the massage. Tell me if you’d like more or less pressure, a different focus area, changes to music or oil, or anything else. There is no extra charge for a bit of scented oil or deeper pressure. I often say, “It’s your dime, your time, and your body.” Every massage I give is designed for you, guided by your feedback.
While many insurance plans unfortunately don’t cover massage therapy, some do, particularly Workers’ Compensation. I recommend checking with your provider and physician, and asking for a prescription if needed. Don’t assume your doctor will suggest massage therapy. Often they’ll prescribe physical therapy, which is not the same, thinking it will also cover massage therapy, but it doesn't.
I’m always happy to answer questions, so please reach out if there’s anything you’d like to know before booking.
I currently see clients at my office in Junction City, Ohio, as well as at Eternal Ember Elysium, LLC in Lancaster. Text me at 740-605-0427 or call at 740-987-2053.
