We love working in a locally owned medical practice! This is Dr. Bursell, who moved to Juneau with his wife, Jamie and two boys nearly 30 years ago. They opened a private practice in Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine, and built a life here in Juneau.

As one of the founders of Juneau Bone & Joint Center, Dr. Bursell's areas of practice include non-operative orthopedics and sports medicine, treatment of spine conditions with a combination of rehabilitation and selective spinal procedures, PRP injections, ultrasound and fluoroscopically guided joint injections, Botox injections and electrodiagnostics (EMG and nerve conduction studies).

JBJC's mission is to restore mobility to improve lives. We are local doctors, therapists, support staff and clinicians who live and work in our community. Thank you for looking local first.

JBJC provides advanced neck & spine care with non-surgical interventions.

Neck and back pain are common conditions that can be a result of injury, trauma, whiplash, arthritis, or wear and tear associated with aging or repetitive use. In most cases, back and neck pain, can cause limited range of motion, joint dysfunction, motor problems and radicular nerve pain.

Our specialized and certified physicians can evaluate and treat your spinal conditions. JBJC also offers treatment of spinal injections if indicated through the Southeast Alaska Surgery Center.

Say Hello to our Physical Therapist, Daniel Witkowski DPT!

Dan earned his B.S. in Kinesiology and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland. He started his career in outpatient orthopedics and managed the concussion and dizziness/vertigo caseload at a busy 11-clinician location.

With a sense for adventure, Dan started traveling in 2016 and has practiced in many states, including Hawaii and Alaska, as well as various settings from the Emergency Room to Hospital Acute Care to Short-term rehab.

Dan’s true passion lies in the clinic with the hands-on approach offered by JBJC. When not in the clinic, you will probably find Dan with his wife Stephanie, hiking, fishing, or at a local brewery, waiting in line at the food truck.
