The Power of Breath is a lineage-rooted practice with Himalayan Kriya Master Teacher Mollie Busby, designed to transform breath from something that “just happens” into a conscious ally in your movement, your practice and your life.

We’ll begin with a short talk exploring what prana actually is, how it moves through the subtle body, and why the way we breathe has such a profound influence on the nervous system, energy levels and clarity of mind. From there, we move into an experiential 75-minute practice that weaves breath into accessible kriya, dynamic yoga poses and intentional pranayama.

Don’t expect to sit and breathe for the whole class; be prepared to move! You’ll experience how breath organizes the body in motion. The practice gradually builds from steady, energizing techniques and mindful movement into deeper states of awareness before settling into a spacious, restorative wind-down.

This is the essence of the work: as awareness of the breath deepens, awareness of the body follows… and from there our patterns, habits and ways of moving through life begin to shift as well. This is what our yogic tradition calls “awakening” — and it’s accessible to each of us in every moment!

Expect a blend of education and direct experience — clear language you can understand paired with practices you can return to again and again. You’ll leave with practical tools to regulate your energy, steady your mind and bring conscious breathing into daily life.

Yoga teachers are eligible to earn Yoga Alliance CEUs for attending.

Curious about Ashtanga but unsure where to start? Or looking for a way to build confidence before stepping into a full Primary Series class? This four-week workshop series offers a thoughtful and accessible introduction to the structure and rhythm of the Ashtanga Primary Series.

Each Sunday we’ll explore sections of the sequence, gradually building familiarity with the movements, transitions, and breath patterns that define this traditional practice. By breaking the sequence into manageable pieces, students will gain the strength, understanding, and endurance needed to approach a full 90-minute Primary Series with confidence.

While this series is inspired by the ashtanga primary series, it is not a strict traditional format. Expect a supportive and exploratory environment with a few modern touches- props when helpful, music and clear guidance.

Our final session will be an extended 90 minute practice , bringing together what we’ve learned throughout the month.

This workshop is intended for those with an intermediate yoga practice.

Book one workshop for $25 or all four as a package for $75. Email info@aukebayyoga.com if you are interested in the package!

PSA Yogis!

You don’t need more passive stretching WITHOUT intentional strength building!
Yoga is unlike any other form of movement- its an embodied, dynamic, and a holistic approach to wellness. The practice includes so many different aspects of your wellbeing- mental, physical, energetic and even spiritual l. And that’s why- for a lot of us in the studio- it’s our primary and favorite form of moving our bodies.

BUT! When it’s your primary or only movement practice, it can open you up to imbalances that can lead to future or sustained injury.

Repetitive movement and passive holds lead to specific areas of the body being highly overstretched, and other integral areas of the body not firing and essentially being “asleep” during exercise.

This dilemma is the inspiration for a specialty workshop with me on March 28th 12-1:30pm- Strength Training to Support your Yoga Practice.

This workshop will begin with discussion surrounding which muscles need strength, which need to be lengthened and how to build a strength training program to support your body, plus how to find more activation DURING your yoga class. We will then complete a strength training circuit in studio where you will get real time feedback and answers to any questions you have specific to your experience. So come prepared to move and sweat!

There is SO much power and autonomy in knowledge. When you understand your body, you are able to move and support it in such a different way. And while some injuries are part of life, you can lessen the chance or magnitude of them by having a large movement diet- the ability to move in lots of different ways!

Gather in the warmth and comfort of our beautiful ABY studio this Sunday March 15th 5pm-6:15pm.

Your guides, Corle and Kristy, will help you acclimate to the space and let you know what to expect. The playlist will take you from a calm, chill ambient energy to an energizing music mix, while you move your body as little or as much as you want. The sound and the vibe guide your experience. There is NO wrong way to move.

(Whether that means you shake that b***y and shimmie your shoulders, or step and flow with expansive arms and silly walks.)

PS: Dancing is for EVERYONE. No matter how old, young, conventionally able, smooth, graceful, awkward, or wobbly you are. All the movements are GOOD movements as long as they FEEL good to you.
