Dr. Oh will present “Extra Maxillary Complications Revisited with Extra Maxillary Implants,” focusing on the challenges associated with zygomatic, pterygoid, and Z-point implant placement in patients with severe maxillary atrophy. His lecture will address complications including implant malposition, inadequate prosthetic trajectory, peri-implant soft tissue dehiscence, and chronic sinus or oroantral conditions.

This presentation will focus on revision strategies for extramaxillary implants, emphasizing surgical planning, anatomical considerations, and intraoperative techniques for removal, repositioning, or conversion to alternative anchorage sites. Attendees will gain insight into limitations, revision techniques, and the philosophy behind managing complex cases.

Case-based examples will highlight revision strategies and clinical outcomes, providing a systematic approach to managing complications and improving patient outcomes.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Oh is the founder of Smart Arches Dental Implant Centers, ORCAA, and the Smile Back Foundation. He lectures and trains surgeons nationally and internationally and is widely respected for advancing both technique and education in implant dentistry.

Southern Implants is honoured to have Dr Dennis Tarnow as the Keynote Speaker for SICON 2026! 🌍🦷

Dr Tarnow is a world-renowned specialist in Periodontics and Prosthodontics, based in New York City, USA, and widely regarded as one of the most influential educators and researchers in implant dentistry.

He earned his DDS from NYU College of Dentistry, where he also completed dual specialty certificates in Periodontics and Prosthodontics. Following an extraordinary academic career, he served for many years as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at NYU, where a clinical wing is named in his honour in recognition of his contributions to the field. 🎓

Currently, Dr Tarnow is a Clinical Professor and Director of Implant Education at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, continuing to shape the next generation of implant clinicians.

A prolific researcher and educator, Dr Tarnow has published more than 250 scientific articles and co-authored several landmark textbooks, including The Single-Tooth Implant. His research has profoundly influenced modern implant treatment protocols worldwide.
