Why do I have such a problem with spine fusion you might ask?
While it is sometimes the right thing to do and totally necessary, I try my best to maintain motion of the spine because the spine is meant to move and locking down spine segments leads to problems in the long term very commonly.

As I sit here in an Atlanta hotel room preparing to teach a course to other spine surgeons on ProDisc, I just realized another year has gone by since my own L5-S1 ProDisc surgery by the master .
It has now been 7 years of being able to sit and stand without severe sciatic pain and being able to do anything I want to do without low back pain. That ability is taken for granted by most people that don’t have spine problems.
