Three months ago, we broke ground on our Specialized Autism Friendly Recreation Complex. One exciting feature will be the Splash Pad, designed for individuals who cannot swim, choose not to swim, or fear immersion in the pool. This inclusive space will provide safe, enjoyable water play while encouraging social interaction.

The Splash Pad will provide opportunities for sensory experiences and social engagement with peers, while also acting as a stepping stone for moving towards a more immersive water experience in the pool.

The Splash Pad has been dedicated in grateful recognition to Thomas R. and Deborah K. Whitesell.

We are now over 60% of our fundraising goal. Help us reach the finish line for our Capital Campaign by giving today: https://form-renderer-app.donorperfect.io/give/els-for-autism-foundation/recreation-complex

Adventure and inclusion go hand in hand 🌿

We’re honored to be featured in an inspiring article for Adventure.com on how Palm Beach County is creating more accessible travel experiences for people with invisible disabilities. From adaptive scuba diving to autism-friendly nature preserves, our community is leading the way in welcoming all explorers.

Located adjacent to our campus, the North Jupiter Flatwoods is the first natural area in Florida to be certified as an “Autism-Friendly” site by the FAU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities.

Our clients enjoy trips to the Flatwoods to walk the trails, visit the pier, and engage with sensory boards that let them experience a variety of textures and surfaces throughout the park. This inclusive environment encourages exercise and promotes social and communicative engagement.

Each year, we also host our Roots & Ruts Off-Road 5K, which runs through the Flatwoods to provide a sensory-friendly race for all abilities. Save the date for the 2026 event on Saturday, April 18, and stay tuned for more information on how to register and get involved!

Travel, play, and thrive — because everyone deserves to explore the world in ways that inspire and empower. 💙✨

Let’s talk about the meaning of “handmade” at Sea of Possibilities (SOP). Each piece created by our Adult Day Training (ADT) clients is more than just art, it represents skill-building, personal expression, and a sense of accomplishment. Every ocean-inspired creation reflects the care, creativity, and dedication of our artists.

SOP at Els for Autism empowers autistic adults by providing vocational training, employment, and community inclusion opportunities. The program serves our ADT clients, employs autistic individuals, and involves dedicated volunteers.

Our campus is a closed campus; however, on the first Friday of the month, we set up shop, along with the Big Easy Cafe, to the public for you to “Dine & Shop.” SOP items are also available online through: https://www.elsforautism.org/programs-services/adult-services/employment-programs/sea-of-possibilities/
