“The love and attention Stephen receives from Every 1 at Els for Autism has changed him; he feels welcomed, loved, praised, and wants to go every day,” shares Donna Pickett. 💙

For Donna, watching her son Stephen grow has been a journey filled with gratitude and change. Through his time in our Adult Day Training program, she’s seen him become more confident, more engaged, and excited to be part of a community where he truly belongs.

“His family and I are so very proud of the beautiful young adult he has become, and we just love the fact that Adult Services has contributed to this journey for him.”

We’re grateful to recognize Al Hough today, whose ongoing generosity helps support life-changing programs at Els for Autism. 💙 Al has seen this impact firsthand through his grandson, Collin, who is part of our Adult Day Training program.

“As Collin’s grandpa, I proudly support the Adult Day Training program at Els for Autism as a monthly donor, having seen firsthand the positive impact it has had on Collin’s life. Everyday moments, both big and small, help shape confidence, independence, and purpose within our Adult Services department. 💙 Today, we’re excited to spotlight Brooke Teta, our Adult Day Training (ADT) Program Manager.

“Building connections with clients and watching their confidence grow is one of the most rewarding parts of this work,” Brooke shares. “Everyone deserves the opportunity to express themselves, make choices, and feel a sense of purpose in their day.”

Through ADT, individuals are supported in exploring their strengths, making choices, and building skills that carry into daily life. With Brooke’s leadership, these experiences become more than routine; they become opportunities for growth, self-expression, and connection.

Brooke is part of the dedicated team helping make these moments possible, because at Els for Autism, Every 1 Matters.

On Volunteer Recognition Day, we’re celebrating the incredible individuals who give their time and heart to our community, like Patricia Dorph. 💙

“Volunteering at Els for Autism has been an incredibly rewarding experience. From the moment I walk through the Big Easy Cafe and Adult Services Building, I’m greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by both staff and clients,” Patricia shares.

Through our Adult Services and programs like Sea of Possibilities, Patricia works alongside participants as they create beautiful, ocean-inspired artwork, helping foster creativity, confidence, and connection. These moments go beyond art; they open doors to purpose, independence, and community inclusion.

Volunteers like Patricia play a vital role in making these experiences possible, and we are so grateful for the passion, kindness, and dedication they bring each day.

To all of our volunteers: thank you for showing up, for lifting others up, and for being the heart behind everything we do. We are so grateful for each and every 1 of you.

✨ Stay tuned as we continue to share the people behind our Adult Services, because at Els for Autism, Every 1 Matters.

This week, we’re highlighting the impact of our Adult Services and the ways they empower individuals with autism to navigate adulthood with confidence, purpose, and independence.

Transitioning to adulthood brings both challenges and opportunities. Through individualized, research based support, adults on the spectrum are equipped to continue learning, build connections, and lead productive, healthy lives.

Each experience in our adult service programs is made possible by a community of dedicated staff, supportive families, committed volunteers, and inspiring participants who make it all meaningful.

Throughout the week, we’ll share their stories and celebrate the difference they make every day.

At Els for Autism, Every 1 Matters.

“As Alexandra’s parents, it is a joy to see how much she cherishes her interactions with both her instructors and her friends,” shares the Bonar family. 💙

From the very beginning of Alexandra’s journey with us, starting during the COVID shutdown with virtual Yoga, Book Club, and Connections Club, the Bonar family has been there every step of the way, witnessing her growth within our programs.

“Alexandra not only values the independence of attending her classes, but it is also heartwarming to see how each class presents a new challenge for her and helps hone her unique skills.”

When you support Els for Autism, you’re supporting every part of the journey: clients, caregivers, staff, volunteers, and donors alike, because at Els for Autism, Every 1 Matters. 💙

Axel quickly found his place in Music Therapy, building connections and growing more confident each week. Initially a bit reserved, he is now fully engaged, sharing his creativity, voice impressions, and beatboxing talents with peers. His enthusiasm has helped him form friendships and create a fun, high-energy environment where others feel encouraged to join in.

Through Recreation Services like Music Therapy, clients are given opportunities to explore their strengths, connect with others, and thrive in an environment designed just for them.

Today, we’re proud to recognize one of our longtime partners, the Admirals Cove Foundation, whose support has helped shape meaningful opportunities for the individuals and families we serve. 💙

For over a decade, their commitment has made a lasting impact, helping us grow recreation programs that foster connection, confidence, and joy. Through initiatives like Movin’ & Groovin’ Summer Camp, participants experience a fun, inclusive environment where they can thrive, build friendships, and create lasting memories, while families feel supported every step of the way.

Because of partners like the Admirals Cove Foundation, these moments go far beyond a single program. They empower individuals, strengthen families, and help create a more inclusive community for all.

Tomorrow, we’ll share another story, another impact, another 1 because, at Els for Autism, Every 1 Matters. ✨
