Kūlia i ka nu‘u”
— Queen Kapiʻolani
i’ve always valued this quote and carried it with me throughout the years , as an athlete, as a dancer, a runner, and in raising my kids And this morning,
today in doing Koko head,,,
it roughly translates to strive to the highest peak..
Not perfection.
Not comparison.
Not the softened version of truth that keeps you small.
Your summit is personal.
It begins with the honest question:
Am I doing my best, or am I getting in my own way?
In a world that pulls us outward, the real work is turning inward —
telling yourself the truth, choosing your own peak,
and rising toward it with integrity.
