Just Magic! No filter, the "mermaid lagoon" in Kauai. Right next to hula heiau. Home of Laka. Sitting on that small piece of grass on the sacred land, an oli for laka came to the surface. I chanted...and As I looked out into the horizon prior to sunset, I felt at home. The most at home kind of peace and belonging I have ever felt deep in my soul. Beyond body, beyond form, beyond illusion. (The experience was not on this day of the photo...tho the only photo I captured within the area of this potent energy filled with love and beauty)

*Laka is the goddess of hula. Which myths, legends, and history if the Hawaiian people are kept in tact thru hula. Laka charges us with the sacred duty of remembering our treasures of our personal legacies and storing them to share with our future generations.
A hula dancer prays to Laka to inspire her performance. The dancer and Laka become one in the dance. The dancer is the body- that which is moved. Laka is the inspiration- that which causes the movement.
*Laka is also a goddess of the forest and she is reproductive energy. Laka makes the forest grow and thrive. She is connected to nourishing elements of light and rain. A nature goddess who can be invoked for rain. She is mentioned as the goddess of love. 💖
