Time Management as a form of Stress Management

Came across this article by a former professor of mine. If your email inbox is controlling your life, read on and click on the link for a simple matrix you can start using RIGHT NOW to help you better manage your time, and your stress. You got this! 🤛🏽💗

We all think we have too much to do, and not enough time to do it. But you’ll never feel on top of things if you don’t have clear priorities in the first place.

Start assessing your priorities by taking inventory of the work you do: Which tasks are more (or less) urgent? Which are the most (or least) important?

This inventory will prepare you to make concrete to-do lists for the tasks that truly need your attention. It will also help you answer the question, “How is my time best spent right now?”

Focus on the tasks that are both urgent and important, and get rid of tasks that are neither by delegating them — or not doing them at all.

And don’t neglect the tasks that are important but less urgent. Be sure these activities move up on your to-do list, or they may never get done.

It’s all about having priorities.

Management Tip of the Day (HBR)

Don’t Let Stress Turn You into a Jerk

When you’re under intense stress, it’s normal to have a short fuse. But don’t take your stress out on whoever happens to be nearby — whether it’s your assistant, family members, or direct reports. Making them bear the brunt of your frustrations will strain your relationships and hinder your resilience. Even if what’s stressing you out is out of your control — intense workload, changing regulatory requirements, a market slowdown — how you treat other people isn’t.

Next time you’re under pressure, and you’re tempted to raise your voice, take a deep breath and remember not to direct your frustrations at people who don’t deserve it. See your colleagues and family members as the allies they’re trying to be.

Yoga can help! 💗

A little Monday encouragement for those of you have the hardest job in the world. 💗😊

All parents know how difficult it is to find time for themselves, and probably feel guilty about it when they do, but it’s important to take a break from your responsibilities, even if it’s for only a few minutes a day.

Research reveals the heart to be a command center of formidable intelligence and intuitive knowledge that is tied into every system and every cell of your body.

But perhaps the most profound revelations about heart intelligence involve the concept of internal coherence.

Coherence is the state of being highly ordered, organized, and efficient. In a coherent system, all the individual parts are operating in harmony and virtually no energy is lost. It is a state of least effort and maximum benefit because all the individual components are working together rather than against each other.

When the rhythms of the heart become coherent, the heart’s electromagnetic field becomes equally more coherent. This strengthened coherence transmits waves of healing and transformation throughout your entire system, including your brain. 💗

The heart is critical to life, continuously circulating blood around your body. But it’s more than simply a pump—there are three steps you can take to ensure your heart is aligned with your brain.
