Massage Cupping Basics

No massage experience required.

Learn the correct placement, safety, contraindications and use of both silicone and vacuum suction cups in massage. Demonstration followed by hands on practice. Learn to use cups on others and yourself.

Limited to 8 students. 3 hours of NCBTMB approved training with certificate. These hours count towards your Hawaii massage license renewal. $125.

Once registered your tuition is non refundable but can be used toward a future class within a year if you have cancel due to illness or emergency.

If you need your CPR hours as well there is a blended learning class the same day at the library from 2-5pm. Or if you are already certified and confident in your skills with a current Red Cross CPR certificate you can attend the challenge course at 5:30pm and just pass a written test with 80% or higher and demonstrate your skills to standards to renew in about an hour.

For centuries the ancient art of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage has been used as a powerful tool for maintaining a healthy way of life. The strokes are long and flowing, using forearms and elbows, and giving the feeling of many hands on the body at once.

Each day you will learn new exercises and massage techniques designed to harness the power of the elements. This massage is profoundly relaxing, creating a deep trance state to allow the receiver to identify and dissolve limiting beliefs that cause illness in the body.

You Will Learn:

The history and philosophy surrounding this work.
Breath and movement exercises to activate your energy potential.
Lomi Lomi massage techniques including a full body routine
Massage techniques to work with specific conditions and different body types.
Self-Lomi for honoring and maintaining your own body.
Most importantly you will gain powerful new tools to add to your healing practice in a safe, fun and nurturing environment.

This class is only open to trained professional massage therapists and bodyworkers so you will never learn at the pace of or have to trade massage with an untrained partner. Massage therapists, PTs, OTs Chiropractors, Rolfers and professional bodyworkers with a foundational training in anatomy and hands on modalities welcome. Students who pass this course will receive a certificate for 20 NCBTMB CEUs.

This class is also approved for 20 CPD points with the CThA in the UK and Massage and Myotherapy Australia for students who want to take a trip to Hawaii and learn these valuable skills.

$595 Course price includes the class only. Students are responsible for their own meals, accommodations and transportation to the class. Students will pair up to give and receive hands on massage in this class.
