The world is full of health professionals who have deep knowledge of anatomy and physiology, who know all the ways to mobilise, manipulate or even surgically alter that anatomy and who can prescribe all the exact corrective orthoses and exercises for every specific dysfunction you can imagine.

And yet, somehow the problem of foot pain (and musculoskeletal pain/dysfunction generally) continues to grow at an alarming rate… What is going wrong? Surely we just need even more detailed and specialised knowledge and even more tools, techniques and technologies to fix people with 🤷

👣

Or maybe what is actually needed is a deep cultural shift in healthcare… to actually focus on promoting health and function with sustainable behavioural and environmental strategies, rather than only focusing on ‘fixing’ dysfunction and disease.

The only way this shift can happen is through health professionals embracing the journey of improving their own health. Just ‘being active’ isn’t enough - if we truly want to help others to the best of our ability, we need to be purposefully exploring and expanding own limits of foot function, balance and movement capacity.

Chuck Duff, in my opinion, is one of those rare geniuses with a caring heart working a revolution to reduce pain for everyone.
For many people his approach can spare them, or extended the time begore they need, invasive surgeries…
For EVERYONE, I believe this is one of the top ways to keep your body at it's optimal function.
Unfortunately, this approach is still far from being widely available in clinical practice.
