There are a few fundamental pillars of technique to follow that will ensure optimal performance and long term safety when squatting.
1️⃣ Stable feet (tripod foot)
2️⃣ Stable knees (minimize horizontal movement on the ascent aka knee cave)
3️⃣ Stable trunk (proximal stability enhances distal athleticism & power - )
There will be variations in other factors like depth & toe angle based on an individuals anatomy/mobility, injury history, and goals.
Good coaches don’t make statements that everyone should squat the same way because some simply can’t and shouldn’t attempt to. Good coaches understand how to analyze those factors to find the best squat for the individual while also giving them tools to work on to enhance their lifts and find what’s most optimal in the long run.
If you want to learn how to screen your body to find what stance/depth may be best for you - check out my 2 YouTube videos “How to squat for your anatomy.”📲

I enjoyed every day with you and cherish the friendships made along the way. It is my hope and prayer that you continue to utilize chiropractic care. Thank you all again.

Turmeric/ Curcuminoid background
Turmeric is a member of the ginger family and has been used for as a traditional remedy in Chinese and Indian Ayurvedic medicine as well as for condiment and flavoring purposes for more than 2,000 years, based on records dating back to 600 BCE. Curcuminoids from turmeric are among the most popular nutraceuticals in use today. In fact, the global curcumin market size exceeds $70 million in 2020 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 11% by 2027. The reason for the popularity of curcuminoids is likely due to the fact that they are highly efficacious and supportive research is extensive.

Tip of the day:
You may need vitamin B12 more now than you did when you were 30.
Vitamin B12 is a vital nutrient beneficial to your overall health. It is essential for healthy red blood cells and nerves. But getting the right amount of vitamin B12 you might need may be a challenge even if you eat a healthy diet. The body’s natural ability to absorb vitamin B12 from food declines with age.

Make your brain acts 11 years younger, eat more spinach. You’ve heard it 1 million times, but here’s a finding that will actually get you to eat more spinach. Researchers found that people who eat one to two servings of dark greens once a day for about five years had the cognitive abilities of someone 11 years younger. Researchers aren’t exactly sure how greens approved brain health, but it may be because they contain large amounts of folate and antioxidants. It doesn’t take much. just eating spinach, kale, or other dark green leafy vegetables each day can do the trick. Try mixing a handful of baby spinach or kale into an almost ready pasta or soup. The heat will weld it, and you’re on your way to a younger brain.

“ exercising while barefoot can definitely be adventurous for your feet,” says Dr.Ragland. “ engaging in low impact exercises barefoot on forgiving surfaces like sand, grass, or a cushioned mat over hardwood can bolster muscular structures that surround the bones, promoting outer joint stability and maintaining inner joint integrity and motion. Reinforcing foot fitness will promote balance, improving the alignment of the muscular and bony structures of the foot.

From the feet up. Don’t let the first link of the kinetic chain throw off your patients balance and posture.
Spotting serial distortion:
There are many ways to identify serial distortion, starting with the feet.
-lateral heel wear on the shoe
-toe out walker
-Achilles tendon bow
-patellar malposition
-weak psoas muscle
-anterior pelvic tilt
-unlevel shoulders
-internal knee rotation
-pelvis tilt
-anterior cervical translation
Restoring healthy posture must start at the feet.

Why am I a doctor of chiropractic?
Because I honor the inborn potential of everyone to be truly healthy. Because I desire to help the newborn, the aged, and those without hope. Because I choose to care for the patient with the disease, not the disease. Because I wish to assist rather than intrude; two free rather than control. Because I seek to correct the cause, not it’s effect. Because I know doctors do not heal, only the body can heal itself. Because I have been called to serve others. Because I want to make a difference. Because every day I get to witness miracles. Because I know it is right.

Devon Payne-Sturges, Dr.P.H, and associate professor at the university of Maryland schools or public health.
Payne-Sturges notes that pesticides can damage the brain and nervous system. And even low levels have been linked to cancer, reproductive issues, and other health problems she says. Plenty of research bears this out. A 2019 study in JAMA Internal medicine found that people with the highest levels of exposure to pyrethriod pesticides were almost three times more likely to die from cardiovascular disease during the 14-year study than those with less exposure. In a 2010 study in the journal pediatrics, children with greater exposure to organophosphate pesticides were more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD. And a 2016 analysis in scientific reports found a link between pesticides and an increase risk of Alzheimer’s disease. Other evidence suggests that pesticides disrupt the endocrine system, which is made up of hormones, the glands that produce them, and the receptors in the body that respond to them. Experts think this may contribute to some cancers and other health problems. And because this system is delicate, even small amounts of endocrine disruptors could have outsized effects, says Michael Hansen, Ph.D., CR’s senior scientist.

What about glyphosate and dicamba? Some of the most concerning pesticides of produce.
Glyphosate, the active ingredient in roundup, is sometimes used in home gardens, and both chemicals are used on corn and soybean plants that have been genetically engineered to be resistant to them. Glyphosate and dicamba destroy weeds but leave the plants unharmed. The world health organization classifies glyphosate as a probable cancer-causing agent, and dicamba is known for drifting from where it’s applied to neighbors farms, killing those crops. That’s why US court of appeals ruled earlier this year that the environmental protection agency shouldn’t have approved dicamba in the first place.
