Whether it’s creating a simple daily routine, setting realistic self-care goals, or finding healthy ways to manage seasonal stress, those small choices add up over time. Supporting emotional health is about progress, not perfection.

As we wrap up the year, it’s hard to capture everything in just 90 seconds, but this video comes close.

This year was filled with meaningful moments, steady progress, and countless examples of what happens when people show up for one another. From everyday wins to major milestones, we’re proud of the work done across our programs and grateful for the Individuals Served, families, staff, and community partners who made it possible.

Community Resource Highlight:

The Kalamazoo Collective Housing Coop (KCH) offers affordable, community-focused living in the Greater Kalamazoo area for those in need. KCH is a nonprofit offering permanently affordable, democratically governed co-op housing in the Vine Neighborhood (near downtown, WMU & Kalamazoo College).

What KCH offers:
Shared cooperative homes and single-family apartments for individuals (especially those on low incomes).
Housing options geared toward inclusivity — including neurodivergent-friendly, substance-free, and community-oriented living environments.
A supportive community built on mutual aid, shared responsibilities, and democratic decision-making.

This Christmas Eve, we were reminded what the season is truly about.

One of our Individuals Served took the time to create a holiday card for our staff, sharing kind words straight from the heart. Simple, thoughtful gestures like this speak volumes and capture the true spirit of the holiday season—gratitude, connection, and caring for one another.

On December 17, Individuals Served from Community Living Options enjoyed an inclusive drumming experience with the Kingpins Drumline at Centerpoint Church in Kalamazoo. The Kingpins create welcoming, accessible music experiences for people of all abilities, and the joy in the room was undeniable.

Centerpoint Church is also where our staff and Individuals Served volunteer together twice each week, making this event even more meaningful. We’re grateful for community partners who help create moments of connection, creativity, and inclusion.

OutFront Kalamazoo is a vital local resource offering support, connection, and safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults in our community. Their programs create welcoming environments where young people can build friendships, access guidance, and feel affirmed for who they are.

OutFront provides weekly youth groups, family meet-ups, mentorship opportunities, and social activities designed to build confidence and community. They also offer housing support through programs like Legacy House, a transitional living option for young adults experiencing housing instability.

Our Hometown Holidays celebration on Friday, December 12th was full of festive fun and community spirit! 🎄✨ Individuals Served, staff, family members, and friends came together to enjoy a holiday meal made possible by generous food donations. Staff and board members volunteered their time to serve food, helping make the evening extra special.

Holiday music filled the room, Individuals Served enjoyed taking photos with Santa, and the afternoon wrapped up with a raffle for both staff and Individuals Served—plus holiday gift bags for Individuals Served to take home. Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration such a joyful way to kick off the holiday season!
