Good morning. It’s Saturday and the shop is open 10-5 today.

Thanks so much for making my Daniel Smith rack look so raggedy. I’m usually not out of more than a couple of colors at a time but I had to make a big order last night to get all the colors back in stock!

If we can keep up this energy I’ll keep special pricing on Daniel Smith and Golden paints and maybe even add a brand or two. 🤞🏻

Kat and Jasmine are at the shop and I’m at a soccer tournament, so there will be no fabric sales today but there are plenty of other supplies to keep your creative juices flowing.

Good morning and happy Friday! The weekend is here and the shelves are stocked with *healthy* obsessions. You’ll find quite a few new items in the pen and stationery areas as well as some truly gorgeous watercolor workbooks with nice, thick watercolor paper inside. I also received the full assortment of open stock Sennelier oil pastels and will be working to get those into inventory and on the shelves.

I know some of you have been eagerly awaiting the Tom’s Studio pens and inks, so be sure to shop early for the greatest selection. These will make great Mother’s Day gifts, but I won’t receive another order before May 10th!

I’ll be here until 7 today and I look forward to seeing your faces!

Good morning from Louisville! I’m at the cutest little coffee shop - .stop.shop - and I took some photos to use as reference for a little sketching when I get to a hotel tonight.

I’ll be winding my way from Louisville back to Kalamazoo over the next few days, stopping at a bunch of indie art supply shops along the way.

The shop is always closed Sundays and Mondays and will have reduced hours Tuesday and Wednesday while I’m traveling.

Kat will be in the shop Tuesday 1:30-6 and Jasmine will be there 2-6 Wednesday. I’ll be home and back to regular hours (10-6) Thursday.

I’ll try to share some of the great supplies I find along the way. I absolutely love this part of what I do and I’m excited to share it with you!

It’s Saturday and the shop is open until 3:30 today - that’s a little earlier than usual but I have a soccer game and no staff coverage so my apologies but this is what being a micro business looks like.

Every week people see something here and tell me they just bought it on Amazon or Blick but would have bought it here if they had known. There’s really only one way to know all of what my little shop holds, and that requires coming in and exploring!

Scroll through the pictures for a taste. But there is just no substitute for walking into an independent art store, and the only way we will continue to exist is if you choose to shop local first.

It’s gloomy outside but just look at that happy smile in the shop! Jasmine has been busy restocking the Golden, Gamblin, and Daniel Smith paints and a variety of other wonderful fine arts materials today.

The field conditions have caused the soccer game to be canceled today so I’ll be here until 6 today, as usual. We would love to have you in so we can put a smile on your face as well!

I have emerged victorious! 🙌🏻 (I know my watch says 1:00 but that’s because I don’t bother to change it twice a year - who has time for that nonsense?). No makeup, very little sleep, but victorious all the same.

I turned the lights on at 2 and had a customer by 2:02 - I so appreciate the fact that you all read my posts and are willing to roll with the occasional adjustments I need to make to the hours of operation. 🫶🏻

I’ll be here until 6 today and back 10-4:45 tomorrow. I will be closing early (tomorrow (sorry!) for a much anticipated soccer game. I actually have a few very busy weeks ahead, resulting in a few schedule adjustments, and I’ll try to get it all into a post soon so you can plan ahead.

Well, thank goodness I placed this order before implementing austerity measures 😅 Just look at all these beautiful cards and envelopes and paper packs. So beautiful.

Some of you will remember when I got to travel to London and Paris for my 50th birthday, and my first stop was Charleston, the home of English painter Vanessa Bell. If that top card looks familiar it’s because it’s Vanessa Bell’s wardrobe! I added a pic I took when I was there so you can see the inspiration.

These are so beautiful and useful, and if you love William Morris or Vanessa Bell you’re really going to love these stationery supplies.

Good morning and happy April 14th :) I’m somehow *still* working on my taxes today and I’m feeling some austerity measures coming in the not too distant future because I realized I spent more on this business last year than the purchase price of my home but paid myself poverty wages. 😢

So that’s not fun, but all the tools I’m using are. My favorite things to get me through the accounting grind days are my Blackwing pencil and two step sharpener, a Milan eraser, page tabs by Semikolon, a Stabilo Boss highlighter, a graph-format Leuchtturm notebook, and my beloved bluetooth 10-key. Everything but the 10-key can be found at Kalamazoo Dry Goods!

I’m here today until 6 and if I manage to complete everything I’ll be back tomorrow 10-6. Fair warning: I may take tomorrow off to finish up and I’m closing early Thursday for soccer.
