Our annual Trunk-or-Treat was another hit with our clients and families this year!

Our new program, Family Care, is looking for adults interested in caring for young children for 6-9 months. These youths will have access to intensive mental health treatment while their biological caregivers learn effective parenting techniques.

You, as a Family Care Home, will be licensed as a temporary safe place for these youths. You’ll have access to 24/7 support, in-the-moment coaching, weekly support, and training to help understand your role with the youths in your home.

Dr. Michael Sharp, DDS, presented a check to Family & Children Services for their HANDLE WITH CARE campaign. Tesi Klipsch, Marketing & Communications Manager, accepted the check on behalf of our clients who will have their basic needs met due to the incredible folks at Sharp Smile Center.

The HANDLE WITH CARE Annual Fund is an essential safety net for those who turn to Family & Children Services for help in a crisis. It meets immediate needs and provides direct services when there is no other source in the community.
Even a small donation to HANDLE WITH CARE can stave off disaster for an individual or family and has the potential to change the course of their lives.

On Saturday, a team from Family & Children Services participated in the Gryphon Place Suicide Prevention Walk in Kalamazoo. The 5K cause-walk raises awareness for suicide prevention and provides critical funds for Gryphon Place in their work to prevent suicide. Their goal aligns with ours: they're fighting for a better future. For those affected by suicide. For open conversations about mental health. For prevention.
