At Centrica Care Navigators, we are deeply grateful for the service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans. Through regular Veteran Pinning Ceremonies held at area care facilities, our team recognizes and thanks those who have served—with dignity, compassion, and heartfelt appreciation. This year, our pinning events will be held at Bickford Cottage in Portage, MI, and the LakeHouse of Kalamazoo.

These moments of honor remind us that every veteran’s story matters. Today, and always, we salute you.

🎃🐾 Pumpkin Pup Takes Center Stage! 🎭💛

Amazing therapy dog, Baylee, was all smiles this Halloween, showing off her adorable pumpkin costume! She brought plenty of joy (and tail wags!) to everyone she met.

But Baylee’s not done spreading happiness; she’s stepping into the spotlight this December in Annie at the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre!

We also offer workshop groups regularly with a focus on parent loss, sibling loss, partner loss, and child loss.

Riding & Remembering: Journeys Grief Support for Kids

Centrica Journeys, in partnership with the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center, offered a special workshop for children and teens ages 5–17 who are grieving the loss of a loved one.

Participants spent time with horses through activities like grooming, leading, and riding. These experiences help kids build confidence, find comfort, and discover healthy ways to cope with big feelings. This program is offered free of charge and generously sponsored by the Susan L. Canole Foundation.

🟠 Grief Connection group members brought pictures and mementos of their loved ones to help create an ofrenda (Spanish for “altar”), in observance of the Day of the Dead in November. This is a tradition throughout Mexico to honor and remember those who have died.

Creating meaningful rituals and sharing memories is an important part of the grieving process. We are thankful for the opportunity to hold space for this in our grief support groups.
