A client asked "how long did it take you to look like that?" Here's my journey 👉🏼👉🏼

I was never really into fitness.
I was an athlete in high school and working out meant running on the treadmill as an adult.

After having 2 babies within 2 years, I decided I didn't want to be a chubby mom (because that's the genetics that run in my family).

I decided to do a Spartan race as a goal to set.
Worked with a coach online who gave me a meal plan and a gym routine.

Not long afterwards, the only reason I was going to the gym was to manage my postpartum depression and OCD. It was the only holistic route I found that actually helped me.

After my Spartan race I continued that same gym and nutrition routine long afterwards, eventually doing things on my own in the fall of 2023.

2024 was when I realized I was actually making visible progress and had muscle definition which was wild.

I joined a gym community and started doing strength and conditioning classes in 2024 at the . Surrounded myself with trainers and got hands on experience with personal training myself.

After witnessing a mock powerlifting meet and heavy pressure from fellow gym buddies, I decided I'd try Powerlifting for fun.... Then got addicted to pushing my body to the limits with strength training.

Did 2 meets back to back and had a blast... And I'm still doing it 💪

But the point of this was I started my journey to be healthy - not to get muscle gains. Then I fell in love with the mental health benefits, the fitness community, and competing as an athlete.

Fall in love with the process. Focus on progress.
Set different goals outside of the scale.
That's how you make health a lifestyle, not a chore.

If planning a weekly menu feels overwhelming, I’ve got you. 😌 Here’s how to set up a simple weekly menu that won’t have you scrolling Pinterest for 2 hours wondering why every “healthy recipe” uses 47 ingredients and a spice you’ve never heard of.

1. Pick your weekly “anchors.”

This is the secret sauce. Choose 2–4 categories you can rotate every single week so you’re not reinventing the wheel. For example:

- High-protein breakfast (same thing all week, don’t fight it)
- One meat-based lunch
- One high-fiber meal
- Your “fun” dinner (taco bowls, rice bowls, stir fry, etc.)

2. Use these parameters to choose recipes:

- 30 minutes or less
- 5–10 ingredients max
- Protein-forward (aim for 25–40g per meal)
- Family-friendly so you’re not cooking twice
- Reheats well for leftovers
- Doesn’t bankrupt you at the store

If a recipe doesn’t meet at least 3–4 of these… skip it. You’re a busy mom or working professional, not a contestant on MasterChef.

***How to make a grocery list that won’t stress you out:***

1) Write your meals first, THEN your list. Not the other way around.
2) Separate your list by sections: produce, meat, pantry, frozen, dairy. (Your future self will thank you.)
3) Check your pantry FIRST so you’re not buying your 12th bottle of olive oil.
4) Stick to the list. The aisles are where budgets go to die.
5) Meal prep tips that actually work:

🍳 Batch your proteins — chicken thighs, ground turkey, or beef for the whole week.
🥔 Prep one carb — rice, potatoes, or pasta (no shame).
🥬 Wash + cut veggies once, eat them all week.
🧊 Freeze a backup meal — chili, taco meat, soup. For the nights when you “don’t feel like it.”
📱 Keep 3–5 go-to meals on rotation to eliminate decision fatigue.

This leads to reduced hunger and helps with portion control.

Now before you come at me with all the negative comments saying it's cheating, people need more discipline, or it's the government's way of poisoning you...

Anytime someone makes a step towards bettering their health, I applaud them.

Even if it’s a route that I don’t agree with, such as:
- weightloss drugs
- MLM supplements scams
- drastic calorie diets like Optavia
- fad diets like carnivore or vegan
- detoxes, resets, and cleanses
- endless cardio

Yes, people need to be intentional about what they put in their mouth.

Yes, people need to exercise more and increase calorie expenditure.

Yes, our healthcare system is likely rigged to keep you spending money with them.

But it's a good thing you have full control over what you put in your mouth, how you spend your money, and what you do with your time.

So if using weightloss drugs is what you need to do to get started with your weightloss goal, I'm here in your corner supporting you.
