We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mary Sterhan for her remarkable leadership as CEO of Greater Valley Health Center. Mary’s vision and dedication have left a lasting legacy.

Here are just a few milestones achieved under her guidance:
✔ Transitioning to independence from Flathead County
✔ Acquiring Sykes Pharmacies
✔ Adding school-based services in Kalispell and Evergreen
✔ Purchasing and opening the Evergreen Clinic, the first primary care clinic in the area
✔ Expanding our budget from $5 million to $26 million and more than doubling staff
✔ Launching a mobile support clinic
✔ Opening a new, modern facility at 1935 Third Street West in Kalispell, bringing together medical, dental, behavioral health, and care management services

Mary’s commitment to our mission and her passion for patient-centered care have shaped Greater Valley Health Center into what it is today. We are grateful for her years of service and wish her all the best in her next chapter!

We’re excited to announce Adam Naumann as the new CEO of Greater Valley Health Center! Adam brings a deep passion for serving rural communities and a wealth of leadership experience.

With a Master of Health Administration from Xavier University and six years as System Director of Primary Care at Union Health in Indiana, Adam is dedicated to breaking down barriers to care. He’s led programs in mobile health outreach, community health worker integration, specialty service expansion, and partnerships to address housing, transportation, and food insecurity.

We look forward to Adam’s leadership as we continue advancing our mission to serve the Greater Valley community. Please join us in welcoming Adam!

Ryan is a commercial lender at Glacier Bank and has a deep passion for supporting local businesses in Kalispell. With a keen interest in fostering the community, he appreciates how Kalispell is evolving while still retaining its small-town charm and strong sense of care for its residents. On the Greater Valley Health Center Board of Directors, Ryan strives to make a positive impact on the community he loves. We love having his insights and commitment on board!

Today, we held our ribbon-cutting and official grand opening of our new building!

This marks a significant milestone for our community and our mission to provide accessible, patient-centered care. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way, including Martel Construction, Cushing Terrell, and Glacier Bank.

With our expanded facilities, we can now offer integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health services all under one roof! We are dedicated to serving everyone in need, regardless of insurance status.

Board Member Spotlight: Meet Carla Genovese.
Carla is the nursing program director at Flathead Valley Community College and a proud native Montanan. With 32 years of nursing experience, including critical care and education, she joined FVCC in 2021. Carla is dedicated to empowering future nurses and giving back to our community as a board member of the Greater Valley Health Center since February 2025. We are grateful for her leadership and passion.

Greater Valley’s mission is to provide health care even when people struggle to afford it. Having health insurance is a critical component of access to care. Higher premiums will result in more uninsured individuals, leading to less preventive care and more crisis-level care, which can cause ripple effects like job and housing loss.

We always appreciate being part of the healthcare conversation in Montana, even when it’s complex. Thanks to the Flathead Beacon for including us in this story.
