I am having to come up with some REAL powerful affirmations to move me through this Christmas season...though, it feels as if I stand on the precarious precipice of pinecones and twinkling lights....about to fall into the abyss of wrapping paper and wire-edged bows from which I might never again return.

Tough words, but a practical point of view

Discipline isn't a superpower. It's a boring decision you make 50 times a day.

I used to think disciplined people were wired differently. Like they woke up *wanting* to do hard things.

They don't. They just do it anyway.

The shift for me: I stopped seeing discipline as punishment and started seeing it as loyalty to myself.

Every skipped workout is a bet that my future self doesn't need to be strong.

Every blown expense is a bet that my future self doesn't need options.

I kept losing those bets.

Discipline isn't being hard on yourself. It's respecting yourself enough to follow through on what you said mattered.

Not because it feels good. Because you're not willing to let yourself down again.

This is true, and so difficult

The soul always knows what to do to heal ourselves

The challenge is to silence the mind

Most of the time the soul whispers ‘be still, all is well’

Yet we can’t help ourselves & listen to the endless chatter of our mind
