Incase yesterday wasn’t enough of a tear jerker 😭🥹😭
Born in Utah in 1945 and raised in the heat and grit of Texas, Leslie Crouch grew up as the second of five kids in a home shaped by military service. His father served in the United States Air Force, and he followed that same road—no hesitation, no excuses.
While stationed in England, he married his first wife, and together they raised four daughters as the Air Force sent them to Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Colorado. Over the years, he became the proud father of six daughters total—proof that the man never shied away from chaos, challenge, or a full house.
When he stepped out of the Air Force, he didn’t slow down. He got to work—dairy farmer, mechanic, automotive supervisor with Montgomery Ward—traveling all over the country and doing whatever needed to be done. In Oklahoma, he kept the uniform close, serving six more years with the Army National Guard.
Eventually, he planted roots in Spokane, Washington, retiring from the automotive world but staying in motion as a school bus driver—a job he truly loved. For a decade, he and his wife opened their home to 21 foreign exchange students. Brenda sadly passed away in 2023, and he now resides at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls if you would like to Thank him yourself!!
Leslie’s known for his dry wit, iron will, and the kind of honesty that never needs polishing. He always says, “It’s better to be pi**ed off than pi**ed on,” and if you know him, you know darn well he lives exactly like that—straightforward, resilient, and impossible to knock down.
Today, we honor him not just for his service, his sacrifice, or the miles he’s put on his boots—but for the heart he’s shown every step of the way. This Pay It Forward, raised through our sweat and sore muscles from our Chad Workout fundraiser, is just a small thank-you for a man who has lived with grit, humor, humility, and purpose. 🥹🥹🥹
