Serving Kalispell and the Flathead Valley, we take time to explain what hospice is, how it helps, and how we make every moment count. Beyond comfort and di

gnity, we believe hospice is about honoring life, instilling hope, and making the most of each day. Services are provided wherever patients live—at home, in nursing facilities, or long-term care—with teams that may include nurses, aides, chaplains, social workers, and volunteers. Each patient receives a personalized care plan, easing stress for them and their loved ones through knowledge, structure, and support.

💜 Stillwater Hospice was honored to be part of the Alzheimer’s Association Breakfast at Immanuel Lutheran, with Jessica Hunter, Community Relations Representative, and Trisha Potter, Palliative/Hospice Nurse Practitioner, representing our team.

This work is deeply personal—and as a statewide corporate sponsor, we’re committed to showing up for these families every step of the way.

We’ll also have our Kalispell team at the Alzheimer’s Walk on October 3.

📣 Big news for Stillwater Hospice—and the communities we serve!

Beginning June 1, 2026, Stillwater Hospice will acquire Campbell County Health Hospice in Gillette, Wyoming. This expansion brings more clinical resources, stronger support services, and a broader regional network—while keeping the same trusted local care team in place.

No disruption. Just more support behind the care families already rely on.

We’re proud to grow in a way that keeps care close to home while expanding what’s possible for patients and families across northeastern Wyoming.

Read more about what this means for the community on our blog https://bit.ly/4umHkvN —and follow along with updates from our Gillette team here: Stillwater Hospice Gillette, Wyoming

When people think of hospice, they often picture one nurse.

But hospice is a team—showing up in different ways, at different moments, when it matters most.

▪️Nurses focused on comfort and symptom management

▪️Social workers guiding families through decisions

▪️Chaplains holding space for meaning, grief, and reflection

▪️Hospice aides helping with day-to-day care

▪️Volunteers bringing companionship and support

Because no one should have to walk this alone.

What not to say when someone is grieving:

🟠 At least they’re in a better place

🟠 Everything happens for a reason

🟠 They lived a long life

🟠 Be strong

🟠 Time heals all wounds

🟠 I know exactly how you feel

🟠 You’ll get over this

🟠 God needed another angel

Even when meant with love, these can feel dismissive or minimizing.

What matters more than the right words is simply being there — listening, sitting in the silence, and letting them grieve without trying to fix it.

Bereavement services at Stillwater Hospice support you for up to a year after your loss. Please reach out to one of our teams in Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
