Heather Michele Williams is a Comprehensive Pilates Instructor certified with Body, Arts, and Science International (BASI). She discovered the magic of Pilates through the recovery of a failed spinal fusion and decided to turn this passion into a career of sharing it with others. She later trained in a form of muscle and fascia release exercise method called Hanna Somatics that she incorporates into her Pilates lessons. She has personally found relief from her chronic pain and restored freedom of movement thanks to these practices and over the years has enjoyed sharing her knowledge to help countless people find relief from pain and discover new ways to move. Heather has traveled the globe extensively and has training in energy work in Thailand and Indonesia and also became a Certified Yoga Instructor at Yoga Gurukul in India. She is currently training with the creators of Primal Movement Works to teach Primal Movement Foundations and Primal Pilates to offer liberating, functional movement to clients of all ages and abilities. By piecing together various modalities, movement disciplines and meditation principles along with her in depth studies in Anatomy and Physiology Heather has discovered a gentle, zero impact way to activate specific muscles while releasing chronically contracted ones to help people move and live better in their bodies.

Free New Year’s Meditation!!

This Saturday evening at 4pm Hawaii time / 6pm California time. Message or comment and I’ll email you a Zoom link.

Years ago I was invited to a New Year’s Day evening meditation, I figured what the heck, I’ll be tired and hung-over but
what better way to ring in the new year than with intentions and meditation. It was AMAZING to say the least!

So… this year, brought to you from the genius of Zoom and the comfort of your home, I’m offering a FREE New Years Intention and Relaxation class. Come as you are, zero judgement and you don’t even have to keep your camera on.

Invite friends, family and anyone you think might need to relax or get grounded or find clarity coming into this new year.

If you haven’t attended one of my BRR (Breathe, Release, Relax) classes in the past, here is what you can expect.
1. Starting with some breathing to calm the nervous system and mind.
2. Then raise our vibration together with gentle sound
3. I will guide you through a couple of my favorite somatic muscle releases to let go of your end-of-year tensions
4. Set intentions and guided body scan to release any remaining tension and welcome in what you do want for 2022.
5. Optional: feel free to stick around for a Sat Nam Audio that you chant, sing, or snore along to…

Steps 1-4 will be one hour, the optional Sat Nam will run for an additional 30 minutes whether you’re awake or not.

This will all take place at 6pm PST/ 4pm Hawaii time on January 1st. Can’t wait to send all our love and light and intentions into 2022 together!!

This is Leo, he is the foster kitten Studio Mascot. He LOVES all things Pilates and you will most often see him on the edge of your screen curled up inside the magic circle watching us Play Pilates on Zoom. He likes to bring his toys downstairs to the studio so he can play with his toys while we play with ours.

I have Giant Balls!! I’ve been teaching my virtual sessions with tiny balls, circles, resistance bands, foam rollers, towels, soup cans and even a kitchen chair. Today I decided to play with my new software so I rolled up my favorite seat in the house to show how easy it is to squeeze in some flexion, extension and lateral side movements into your day. If you’re like me and you enjoy sitting on your GIANT BALL, try out these fun variations to add new planes of motion into your day to day while you
SOOOO FUN!!
And ohhh the stretches you can do on this thing!

Bucket-List dream comes true! Attention all Movement Professionals and Anatomy Geeks! This live tissue cadaver dissection has been on my bucket list for years but it is normally in person only, way out of my budget and hosted on the other side of the country. Thanks to the Quarantine it is being offered for the first time virtually this weekend and at a very affordable rate! Unlike with preserved cadavers, live tissue dissection allows you to view fascia and all of the muscular connections in their natural hydrated states. It will change the way you view the body and soft tissue connections. Instead of using the scalpel to cut the muscles in accordance to our Anatomy books, you get to use the back of the scalpel to gently separate the muscles and explore the connections and observe how all soft tissues relate to each other, including fascia which would normally be dried up and indiscernible. If you’re curious, and Thomas Myers has videos on YouTube of some of this stuff, but OMG! This is going to be EPIC!

I’m still pretty awkward teaching to a camera, but now that we’re all sheltering at home I wanted to get some movement videos out to you and get you moving and stretching and feeling good in your body. Grab your roller and join me for some movement, exercise and gentle stretches!

This photo reminds me of the saying “gratitude turns what we have into enough”.

I was on a day trip away from the Ashram in India to do a Seva volunteer visit to a very rural village in need of basic supplies. I met this lovely woman and although we didn’t speak the same language, the joy that radiated from her spoke volumes. She just couldn’t wait to show me her goat! She was so proud of her goat and wanted me to take her photo with the goat. I was excited to meet her baby, but she wanted to show me her goat. As a matter of fact, everyone in her village were all Smiles! So cool to see such joy and happiness from people who have so little.

It’s so easy over the holiday season to get caught up in the “I wants” or “I needs” and forget to look at all the blessings we have in our lives right now. As much as we set goals to Do More, Get More and be more for this new year and decade, let’s take a day to appreciate the things we have already accomplished and the wonders that surround us now.

You can return back to your regular over-achieving self tomorrow LOL @ Somatic Pilates
