Habilitat residents spent the day giving back right next door at Kāneʻohe Beach Park. 🌊
This spot isn’t just any beach, t’s part of a long history of fishing, gathering, and community here in Kāneʻohe Bay. For generations, this area has been a place where people come together, and we’re proud to help take care of it.
We teamed up with Manny Aloha from Parley and got to work, picking up trash, cleaning the shoreline, and doing our part to mālama ʻāina. Just being out there together, putting in the work, felt good.
This is what it’s about, showing up for the community, taking care of the places around us, and giving back in a real way. 🤙

Big mahalo to Venus Kauʻiokawēkiu Rosete-Medeiros for coming out to Habilitat and spending time with the women in our program. 🌺
Venus is a strong leader and cultural practitioner who works closely with youth and families across Hawaiʻi, helping to create real change through care, support, and Hawaiian values.
She shared a powerful and meaningful presentation, and we’re grateful for the time, knowledge, and heart she brought to our community. 🤙

Breathe it in, Its a beautiful day! 😁😁😁

Big mahalo to the Sewa Fare' African Dance Group for coming out to Habilitat and sharing such a powerful experience with our community. They make their way out here at least once a year and have been consistent over the years. 🌍🥁
Sewa Fare is an Oʻahu-based West African drum and dance group that brings traditional rhythms, movement, and culture to life through music and dance.
Our residents didn’t just watch, they got involved. From learning rhythms on the drums to stepping into the dance, it turned into a hands-on experience full of energy, culture, and connection.
It was a great opportunity to learn something new, step out of comfort zones, and just have a good time together.
Mahalo for bringing the culture, the energy, and the experience to our community. 🤙

Big things are in the works at Habilitat… 🎥✨
We’re in the early stages of putting together a major project, and right now it’s all about learning, building skills, and gaining the knowledge it’s going to take to bring it to life. The best part? This project is completely hands-on, giving our residents the chance to be involved every step of the way.
A huge part of that growth comes from Andy Ryan, who has a deep admiration for our mission and generously gives his time to teach video editing, lighting, sound, and production classes.
This video was put together by our residents in the editing class, showcasing what they’ve been learning—including a behind-the-scenes look at a sound rehearsal that kicks off with some foley work (creating sound effects using everyday objects). 🎬🔊
Big mahalo to Andy Ryan for believing in our mission and investing in our guys. This is just the beginning. 🤙

As a lot of you may know, we’ve been experiencing some heavy rains out here on Oʻahu 🌧️
To all the families with loved ones here at Habilitat, we want you to know everyone is safe and things are still running smoothly. Our residents are doing well and staying positive through it all.
We truly appreciate all the support and aloha—rain or shine, the community stays strong. 🤙🌺
