We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Pet Doula Certification Program.

Our program aims to equip students with the necessary information and support to excel in their role as Pet Doulas. By offering guidance and resources, they will be able to assist pet owners in every aspect of care, be it promoting their pets' health, addressing sickness, or navigating the difficult process of pet loss.

We study how social, cultural, and spiritual aspects affect our relationships and care for pets. We offer advice to enhance these relationships and improve the well-being of our pets. We also support those who are grieving due to their pets' health issues or loss.

This course is a 9-week course that meets every Tuesday beginning September 12th at 6pm CST.

It may be one of the most difficult things you do, but it is what should be done.

While we do have feelings and opinions about what they are going through, at the end of the day we need to be mindful that this is not about us.

It can be so hard to accept that someone wants to sleep all day, or stop eating, or let go… but we aren’t in their shoes. They are dying, and they have to face this day after day.

The most compassionate and supportive thing we can do, is to meet them where they are, not where we want them to be.

Take their hand, and say… “I love you, I support you, and I am right here by your side… you are not doing this alone.”

I believe that care for the dying is a sacred calling and should be cherished. I specialize in end-of-life care by practicing an integrated approach. I believe in honoring the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of life. I believe the transition to death should be revered and that often the last months of an individual’s life can be the best months of their life. I just wanted to clarify some of my beliefs about death and dying for those who have asked. I believe we need help going out of this world. I believe people need to feel fully supported through the dying process. Death is not the end, rather a beginning to the other side. I have found that when we contemplate, instead of avoid, death it becomes a teacher and friend. I am a firm believer in education and advocacy. I believe when we choose to normalize conversations around death and dying, the world is remarkably changed and cultural stigmas can shift.
