Even clinicians with the best of intentions often find their clients experience invalidation. Validation used properly results in clients feeling heard and understood. When used with suicidal clients, validation can make the difference in moving clients toward a life worth living and safety planning.

This course is designed for professional counselors, school counselors, social workers, marital and family therapists, psychologists, addiction counselors, case managers, nurses, and other health care professionals to help them understand how to use validation with suicidal clients and learn self-validation strategies to teach clients.

Institute for Psychological Advancement (IPA) has two openings for a Missouri licensed psychologist or clinical social worker. One position will work full-time (40 hours per week) and the other position will work part-time (one 7-hour day per week) at Job Corp as a Mental Health Counselor/Consultant. A minimum of one year experience while independently licensed providing assessment and treatment services to adolescents and young adults is required.

Starting pay range is $49-51 per hour for psychologists and $46-48 for master's level social workers. Clinicians are paid for scheduled hours worked (no hassle with billable hours or client sessions!). IPA offers a pay raise at 120 days and then annually, based on performance. FT providers have access to free CEUs and PT providers get a 50% discount on CEUs.

This position is located in Excelsior Springs, MO. This position works on a contract serving a student population aged 16 to 23 providing clinical services including assessment and brief therapy. The clinician also provides training and education for students and staff, program development, and staff consultation. This is an independent contractor position paid monthly.

Preference given to applicants with the following experience:
• Brief evidenced-based interventions (i.e., SFBT/SFT, CBT/CT, EMDR)
• Work with high-risk youth
• Trauma-focused approaches

COVID vaccination is required due to government contract.
