This is a great way to help veterans!

The KCH Veterans Community Project Donation Drive is accepting donations now! Here’s how you can help!

It’s that time of year again where we want to show our veterans how important they are to us and how much we value their service. Veterans Day is Tuesday, November 11 and this is a great time to let Kansas City and the metro area’s unhoused and in-need veterans know we care.

This is why each year Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care (KCH) partners with Veterans Community Project of Kansas City (VCP) which is an organization with a mission to fix Veteran homelessness with the strength and support of the community.

Our donation drive for the Veterans Community Project commissary and store will run from November 1 through November 30.

KCH will be collecting new, unopened hygiene, cleaning and non-perishable food items to support VCP. There are collection boxes at all KCH locations, and Heart & Soul Resale Shop (donations accepted until Nov 11 at Heart & Soul).

All new, unopened hygiene, cleaning, and non-perishable food items will be accepted, but below are some of their currently listed items of greatest need:

Food/Drink:
- Peanut butter (creamy and crunchy)
- Raisins
- Canned Proteins (salmon, tuna, chicken, pastas with meat)
- Sliced canned carrots, beets, mixed veggies
- Cup of Noodles
- Manwich, Hamburger Helper, meal starters, etc.
- Ensure etc.
- Canned soup-meat and vegetarian options

Hygiene:
- Paper Towels
- Mini hand sanitizers
- Small lotions (2 oz sizes)
- Deodorant
- Travel size tissue packets
