Julie has been donating for years to honor the strangers who saved her sister’s life during childbirth, and after hearing her story, her partner Travis (IG: ) didn’t hesitate to make his return to donating ❤️

Travis shared that knowing his O+ blood can help almost anyone who needs it was part of what inspired him: “Knowing my blood will help save someone’s life is a feeling like no other.”

Julie (IG: ) said it was an easy “yes” for him, and the two ended up spending what Julie described as “a very sweet day date with my fellow O+ partner.”

For Julie, donating is deeply personal:
“I remember how hard my tears fell when the doctor told me 8 people helped save my sister’s life. I wanted to hug each one and thank them. Now I love knowing someone in KC is sending those same grateful tears and hugs right back.”

Their advice for anyone thinking about donating:
“Just go. Walk in. Talk to the ultra friendly staff. They will help you through everything.” (Travis)
“The actual donation is quick — and you leave feeling like a real-life superhero.” (Julie)

We love seeing donors show up for each other, share their stories, and bring more people into the mission ❤️

Some people donate because they can — and that’s exactly why Danielle keeps showing up. ❤️

Danielle has been donating blood since she was just 16 years old. Having seen friends and loved ones rely on transfusions, including during cancer treatments, she understands how powerful one donation can be.

“I am able to donate, and that’s why I do.”

Her journey even came full circle at the Lee’s Summit Donor Center, where she recently reunited with Mark — the staff member who helped during her very first donation and who has now been serving donors for 31 years.

Every donation connects people in ways we don’t always expect. Thank you, Danielle, for making a lifesaving difference.

Debbie has been a dedicated blood and platelet donor for more than 35 years, beginning with her first donation in 1989 after being inspired by her grandmother's selflessness while battling leukemia.

“I realized I could give a little of myself to help someone else,” Debbie says. “It was my way of making sure my grandmother didn’t feel like a burden and that people who needed blood could still have it.”

Over the years, Debbie expanded her giving to platelets and has now donated more than 150 times, that's over 18 gallons of lifesaving blood products.

“When I donate, it’s two hours where I can do something purely for someone else,” she shares. “It reminds me how fortunate I am to be healthy enough to give. I feel lucky every time I donate.” ❤️

One by one. Bag after bag. “Thank you, donor.” Emily whispered those words after each of her 23 lifesaving transfusions.

Today, Emily celebrates March 31st as her “Alive Day” and as a longtime donor herself, that experience only deepened her commitment, because she knows what it means when time is running out.

Help shape someone’s tomorrow. Donate today at savealifenow.org.

🚨🩸 Right now, we need O- and O+ donors to step up. These blood types are critical for everyday patient care, and in emergencies when every second counts.

Our O- inventory is at a critical level, with less than a 3-day supply remaining. O+ is also in constant demand, as it can help the majority of patients and is one of the most commonly used blood types in hospitals.

If you're type O, your donation can make an immediate, lifesaving difference. Don’t wait, schedule your appointment today at savealifenow.org/zipsearch.
