KidSight is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free vision screenings for children. Louis in 1995 with a handful of volunteers screening a few hundred children a year. Today, KidSight’s program has grown to screen the vision of more than 67,000 kids throughout Missouri each year with the help of trained staff and volunteers. Since 1995, we have screened the vision of more than 500,000 children.

We’re proud to celebrate volunteers like John and Rosa. 💙

For the past 6 years, they’ve dedicated their time and talents to helping Missouri children see the world clearly. As members of the New Haven MO Lions Club, they've grown their own team to 4 members and even helped bring two additional teams to life in their District.

They said, “Knowing we are helping put children on the right path for better vision is what we enjoy most.”

Meet KidSight Volunteer, Lion Mary Jane 💙

As the Team Coordinator for Team Bowling Green, she keeps everything running smoothly. What started with just her and her husband, Lion Bob, has grown into a team of 7.

Her favorite part of volunteering is the kids. She said, “The little faces they make when we take eye pictures are priceless. But my absolute favorite is going back the next year and seeing kids we referred wearing their glasses!”

We’re proud to highlight one of our incredible volunteer teams, Team Chillicothe. Their dedication to helping kids see clearly is making a real difference in Northwest Missouri and beyond! 💙

In 2025, this dedicated group screened children in 21 towns across 11 counties—helping more kids access early vision care and setting them up for success. They love partnering with KidSight staff and local communities to expand their impact, and their passion shines through in everything they do.

We're celebrating the Week of the Young Child with The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)!

Many children with vision problems don’t even realize they’re not seeing clearly. Early detection is key and that’s where KidSight comes in. By bringing vision screenings directly into early childhood centers, daycares, preschools and schools, we’re helping ensure more children have the tools they need to succeed from the very start.
