The University of Kansas Health System, the University of Kansas Medical Center, Children's Mercy, and BAMF Health will establish the nation’s first fully integrated theranostics platforms to both adult and pediatric patients.

This advanced approach combines diagnostics and therapy — finding disease and delivering targeted treatment at the same time, like a heat-seeking missile.

Patients like John Corbins, who has Stage 4 prostate cancer, are already seeing the impact. His cancer is well controlled — giving him more time to garden, cook, and make memories.

Congratulations to Marisol Reyna, RN, on being honored with the DAISY Extraordinary Nurse Award. Reyna, who works in neurosurgery on our 39th and Rainbow campus, was nominated by a patient who says Reyna interceded when she needed help with her post-surgery pain.

“I cannot imagine where I would be today without Marisol’s kindness, compassion and unwavering advocacy. Her willingness to go above and beyond her normal duties is the reason I am now on the road to recovery," the patient wrote. "Words cannot fully express our gratitude. Marisol’s patients are fortunate to have such a dedicated professional caring for them.”
