🇺🇸 Honoring Our Veterans at McCrite Plaza 🇺🇸

Last week, we were proud to celebrate Veterans Day across campus with a series of heartfelt ceremonies and special moments honoring the many brave veterans who call McCrite Plaza home. Their service, sacrifice, and dedication to our country continue to inspire us every day.

A very special thank you to our friends at Care Patrol and Elara Caring for providing beautiful pins and certificates to our veterans. Your partnership and kindness made the day even more meaningful.

We also extend our gratitude to the Northeast High School Color Guard for their impressive presentation and participation in our ceremonies. Your presence added such honor and dignity to the event.

To all of our veterans — thank you for your service. We are humbled and grateful to have you as part of our community. ❤️🤍💙

🏡 Fun Times in the 1301 Building!

There’s never a dull moment here at McCrite Plaza! Residents in the 1301 building have been busy enjoying all sorts of activities — from Meow Moments with Farrah the cat 🐱 to rock painting 🎨 and some friendly competition with Wii games with Tony 🎮.

It’s these small moments of laughter, creativity, and connection that make life here so special. 💕

🎃👻 Little ghouls, goblins, and giggling ghosts took over McCrite Plaza this week for our annual Friends & Family Trick-or-Treat!
Residents, families, and staff filled the halls with laughter, candy, and plenty of sweet hugs and kisses. 🍬💜

Nothing beats seeing generations come together — from tiny superheroes to our superhero residents — sharing smiles, stories, and spooky fun. 🧙‍♀️🕸️

🍲 Potluck Perfection! 🍰
This month’s potluck dinner was a true taste of home! Our amazing activity team duo, Mark and Mauryn, hosted an evening filled with delicious dishes and even better company. Residents brought out their family-favorite recipes—from secret casseroles to treasured desserts—for everyone to enjoy.

It’s always special to see the stories, memories, and laughter that come with a shared meal. Thanks to everyone who helped make this gathering such a flavorful success! ❤️

💜 Team McCrite Walks to End Alzheimer’s! 💜

What an incredible season of giving and walking for a cause so close to our hearts. Team McCrite came together once again to support the Alzheimer's Association, raising over $6,000 this year!

Our annual Spaghetti Dinner and Raffle Drawing at McCrite Plaza Briarcliff was the perfect finale — full of laughter, community spirit, and generosity. Thanks to everyone who donated, came out and supported us, we raised nearly $2,000 at this event alone!

Two days later was the Northland Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and a few days after that, the walk at McCrite Plaza! To all our residents, families, and staff who walked beside us, donated, or shared a kind word — thank you. Every step and every dollar brings us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. 💜

✨ Road Trip Adventure! ✨

Last week, our McCrite Plaza Kansas City residents hit the road with Activity Director Chris and our wonderful driver Mark for a day of fun at Prairie Meadows in Des Moines, Iowa! 🚌🐎

They enjoyed a delicious meal, cheered on the horses at the races, and even got a behind-the-scenes tour of the beautiful facilities. Smiles, laughter, and memories filled the day—it was truly a trip to remember! 💙

We’re so grateful to Chris and Mark for making the journey so special, and to our residents for bringing such great energy and joy wherever we go. 🌟
