This November, we embarked on a virtual tour of the substantial state of Texas. Several residents have traveled to Texas and concur that the night sky filled with stars on the ranches is truly spectacular. This experience has triggered considerable artistic expression as they paint their versions of 'A Starry Night in Texas.'

It was a beautiful scene as the Color Guard of Greater Kansas City opened our Wexford Independent Living Veterans Day Ceremony. The Wexford Hand Belles played patriotic songs & Linda Sutherland played each branch of services song on the piano. We are grateful to resident Army Veteran, Larry Chalberg, for leading the Pledge of Allegiance & Navy Submarine Veteran, Terry Simmons, for sharing the meaning of his service with our community in a touching tribute. Liz Bates & the team at Interim Healthcare were instrumental in making the program a success. We are grateful to everyone who played a special part in honoring our brave soldiers.

Our Halloween Happy Hour in Independent Living was a spooktacular good time thanks to the sounds of Mike Thompson & with the help from Northland Christian School Students on their day of ministry. Our scarecrow appetizer was a hit from one of our fantastic chefs, Jennifer. October found us finishing our arm chair travels through North Carolina. We visited many haunted places as we learned about the history of the state. We also made spooky ghosts to commemorate the history! We threw in a little Halloween fun on our spooky journey too. We painted pumpkins, sipped on mocktails and even prepared for November as we wrote on our "grateful pumpkins." There is so much to be grateful for at Wexford Place!

Our Independent Living Residents had an opportunity to visit the Museum of Kansas City. We toured the 34,000 square foot former mansion named Corinthian Hall. It is stunning from floor to ceiling; the stained glass windows & staircases were awe inspiring.
