Before the candy haul begins, here are a few simple ways to help keep your kids safe while trick-or-treating tonight.

🎃 Stick to well-lit neighborhoods and always use sidewalks
🧙‍♀️ Make costumes visible with glow sticks or reflective tape
👻 Check all treats before eating and toss anything that looks tampered with
🕷️ Remind kids to stay with their group and never enter a stranger’s home
🦇 For little ones, add ID tags with contact info just in case

As Domestic Violence Awareness Month comes to a close, we are reminded that the need for safety and support continues every day.

One in four women and one in ten men will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. At KC CARE Health Center, we believe health includes being safe at home.

When one of our patients shared what she was experiencing, her provider listened and connected her with resources that helped her move forward.
