The antibody test shows if you had a past infection of COVID 19 and have recovered within the last 2 weeks. Results are available in 2-10 minutes and performed on site. Because antibody testing is not 100% accurate the FDA still recommends social distancing/stay at home guidelines. If your test is positive, we are required to also follow it up with a nasal swab test since the antibody test can give a positive result on more than just COVID-19 (other corona virus examples that could cause positive result are Influenza and RSV).

In my opinion as a doctor is that in order for the state or city government to re-open the economy, more testing capacity should be done. By testing, I mean the FDA should approve for instant testing in clinics for blood test. The 5 minute swab testings should be allowed to be sold to clinics and hospitals in Missouri. For right now, in Missouri and Kansas, no clinic or hospitals are able to order these 5 minute tests as the government and Abbott who is manufacturing 50,000 test kits a week- WILL NOT sell the tests to Missouri or Kansas as they will only allocate the tests to other hot zone areas.
We were notified to have these tests in mid June for Missouri and Kansas.
We should push for more instant testing like this for Missouri and Kansas ...then we can re-open the economy. Patients will be able to return to work return to normalcy feeling reaasured that they do not have the virus
Call or write to your Senator and Congressman to help push for this.
Right now, both Missouri and Kansas have about 7000 cases of Covid-19. We DO NOT want to re-open the economy on 05/03/2020 with no instant swab testings and blood tests are allowed in clinics/hospitals or easy access for patients.
At our clinics, we have done several hundred Covid 19 tests, but our patients have had to wait 3-6 days for results since the volume of testing overwhelmed the labs. This needs to change to prevent a second wave. Thanks all for reading. Please share if you can.

This is Dr Tu Anh Luong MD from First Point Urgent Care, our clinics in Missouri and Gardner, KS will open for testing for COVID 19 starting on Friday in our parking lot. Please continue to practice social distancing, stay home even if you do not have symptoms as there is slight possibility that you might have Covid 19. If you take care of any close family members who have lung/heart disease, wear a mask to prevent from giving Covid 19 to them.
We are guaranteed about 300 tests per week to provide testing for patients. So patients with symptoms of sore throat, cough, fever of more than 100.4F, feel short of breath, please call our clinic to arrange for a telephone visit to see if you meet criteria to be tested.
There are mixed opinions by experts on testing the patients with and without the symptoms to know so that we can control, contain, and identify the "disease hot spots"....separate these positive patients and hopefully control the virus spread. We have seen in the media Senator Rand Paul, Prince Charles, Idris Elba.....they have no to mild symptoms, but if we do not test them, they can go around and give the virus to grandma, grandpa, patients with lung diseases and place these patients at risk for severe illness.
This is a very difficult time for all of us, so at First Point Urgent Care, we will test patients with symptoms as above, anyone who care for family members with lung/heart disease to help identify and hopefully separate these patients. This is how Singapore, South Korea have been able to slow down the spread of this virus.
If you do not talk to our doctor, you will need an order from your doctor to get tested at our facility.
