Healing House KC

Healing House KC Bringing hope and healing through substance use disorder treatment and supportive recovery housing.

Who do you know whose life isn’t, in some way, touched by drug and alcohol addiction? Sadly, many of us understand all too well the impact addiction has on individuals, relationships, families, and society as a whole. Healing House, Inc., a non profit established in 2002, helps to restore the lives of individuals battling addiction through the provision of safe, stable, recovery-supportive housing. We’re grateful, thankful and blessed that thousands of men and women, who made Healing House their home, chose to brake the chains of addiction. We share our experiences with all that want what we have, strengthen our resolve to “do the next right thing” and give HOPE to everyone, everywhere at anytime for change.

First Federal Bank of Kansas City is helping empower our participants through financial literacy and opportunity. 💙

Through their Financial Literacy 101 classes, 63 individuals have opened new bank accounts—an important step toward stability and independence. They also lead first-time homebuyer classes, Helping the Helper, opening doors to even greater possibilities.

We’re grateful for partners like this who invest in real, lasting change.

From Renovation to Restoration—Now Protected by Titan! 🔨🔐

We are grateful to partner with Titan Protection and Consulting as a Legacy Sponsor for our upcoming Swing for Recovery Golf Tournament.

This partnership goes beyond sponsorship.

When one of our homes currently under renovation was recently broken into, Titan stepped in without hesitation. Today, Blake and Nate were on site helping us assess and secure the property so it can safely become home for future participants.

This is not the first time they have shown up for us. They previously stepped in to protect Aaron’s House, and once again, they are meeting a real need with urgency and care.

Because of partners like Titan, the spaces where recovery begins are protected, prepared, and ready for the next person walking through our doors.

Thank you for standing with us in both the visible and unseen work.

We loved welcoming Natalia and Stephanie from DM Law for a recent visit!

This partnership is a new one for us, and we’re truly grateful for their early commitment to the work happening at Healing House. Their support already means so much—and we’re especially excited to have them join us as a sponsor for our upcoming golf tournament on April 27.

New partnerships like this are worth celebrating. They reflect a growing community that believes in recovery and the impact we can make together.

You know we LOVE our dogs at Healing House—and our three huskies (Skyler, Blue, and Spike…mom and her 2 sons) are bringing so much life and joy to our big starter men’s house, Cornerstone!

They’re now living with 40 guys—offering comfort, laughter, and a little “husky security team” energy every day. They’ve quickly become a huge part of the recovery family ❤️

Now they just need one thing…a yard to run! 🐕💨 (and let’s be honest—when it’s cold, they really want to be outside! ❄️🐺)

We’re looking to raise about $500–$600 to put in a fence so they can safely play outside.

If you’d like to chip in for their new “dog park,” we (and they—with lots of tail wags) would be so grateful! To donate, click the link below—just be sure to note "dog fence" in the comments.

Thanks for loving on our community in all the ways you do.

Big respect where it’s due. 👏

Adam just hit 5 years (pictured here), and Brad 17 years—two incredible journeys marked by grit, growth, and showing up day after day. Recovery isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress, and these two have put in the work to build something stronger on the other side.

Their stories remind us that a new path is always possible—and every step forward matters. Drop some love in the comments to celebrate them! 💛

We’re incredibly grateful to First Federal Bank of Kansas City and their Helping the Helper program! 🎉

Last week, several Healing House team members completed their classes—taking an exciting first step toward becoming homeowners. We’re so thankful for FFB of KC’s guidance, support, and expertise in helping make that dream a reality.

This partnership is truly making a difference in our community, and we appreciate the opportunity it provides for our employees who are working toward owning their first home. 🏡

We were so grateful to welcome a group of middle and high school students from Grace Church - Olathe Campus this week as part of their spring break service across our community.

Healing House was just one of their many stops, and they showed up with open hearts, ready to serve wherever they were needed. They were engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and shared how much the sense of community here stood out to them.

When the cold weather forced a last-minute change to their project, they didn’t miss a beat—jumping in with flexibility and a willingness to help in any way. They even took time to write thank-you notes to our incredible regular volunteers, which meant so much.

To these students: thank you for the energy, care, and compassion you brought with you. You made a difference here, and we’re grateful you chose to spend part of your week with us.

Jeremy recently made the move from Benton to Spruce, creating a better space for what matters most—time with his two teenage kids. With weekend visits now and hopes for even more time together this summer, this new chapter is all about family. 💛

He was especially thrilled to receive a handmade quilt for his daughter—a thoughtful gift that will make her feel even more at home when she visits.

Moments like these remind us how meaningful a safe, welcoming space can be. 💙

After nearly 20 years of marriage—and a season spent apart pursuing recovery—Gina and Tommie are finally home together again. 💛

Gina arrived at Healing House in July 2024, graduated treatment in December, and stepped into leadership at Mama Judi’s. Tommie began his journey in May 2025 through the Imani program, and today also serves in leadership at Cornerstone. Though their time apart allowed only minimal contact, they both stayed committed to healing.

Now reunited in their own apartment at Spruce, they’re building a life they love—cooking together, enjoying time at home, with Gina sewing and Tommie using his handy skills to give back.

They’ll celebrate 20 years of marriage this year—stronger than ever.

To top it off, they received a handmade quilt in colors they chose themselves—a beautiful symbol of comfort, care, and a fresh start. 💙

In April, Healing House will begin a simple shared practice: Prayer.

Each week focuses on a different group:

Week 4: Our partners and supporters

How to join us:

• Download the prayer guide when it is released
• Set aside about five minutes a day
• Pray the Scripture and short prayer for that day
