Last week I left my heart and my new besties in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala. 🤍
I served alongside 23 amazing humans with Humble Village — an organization working in the epicenter of child malnutrition, where rates are the highest in all of Central, South, and North America.
Their mission is simple and powerful:
Empower mothers and families to break the cycle of hunger and infant mortality.
And they do it so well!!
✔️ 100% of all donations go directly to field programs — no administrative overhead taken out.
✔️ Two decades of sustained presence — the only NGO consistently serving this region.
✔️ Community-based leadership — trusted local staff serving year-round (my new besties)
✔️ Culturally sustainable, data-supported outcomes spanning more than a decade.
They don’t just provide short-term nutrition (though that alone saves lives).
They provide:
🌱 Education on gardening and food sustainability
💧 Access to clean water
📚 Nutrition and health education
💼 Small-business training so mothers can create income
They give women the tools necessary to pull themselves out of extreme poverty — with dignity.
Being here was a sacred experience that changed me forever and reminds me of something I believe deeply:
When you nourish a woman, you change a generation.
Whether in Guatemala or at home through Honor Your Body, the principle is the same —
Support women.
Educate women.
Equip women.
Trust women.
Health isn’t a luxury.
It’s a foundation.
And when mothers thrive, communities follow. 🤍
