Last week I left my heart and my new besties in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala. 🤍

I served alongside 23 amazing humans with Humble Village — an organization working in the epicenter of child malnutrition, where rates are the highest in all of Central, South, and North America.

Their mission is simple and powerful:
Empower mothers and families to break the cycle of hunger and infant mortality.

And they do it so well!!

✔️ 100% of all donations go directly to field programs — no administrative overhead taken out.
✔️ Two decades of sustained presence — the only NGO consistently serving this region.
✔️ Community-based leadership — trusted local staff serving year-round (my new besties)
✔️ Culturally sustainable, data-supported outcomes spanning more than a decade.

They don’t just provide short-term nutrition (though that alone saves lives).

They provide:
🌱 Education on gardening and food sustainability
💧 Access to clean water
📚 Nutrition and health education
💼 Small-business training so mothers can create income

They give women the tools necessary to pull themselves out of extreme poverty — with dignity.

Being here was a sacred experience that changed me forever and reminds me of something I believe deeply:
When you nourish a woman, you change a generation.

Whether in Guatemala or at home through Honor Your Body, the principle is the same —
Support women.
Educate women.
Equip women.
Trust women.

Health isn’t a luxury.
It’s a foundation.

And when mothers thrive, communities follow. 🤍

The scale is one data point — not the whole story.

Here are 3 things we care about more 👇

✨ Digestion & metabolic health
💪 Bone & muscle mass
⚡ Energy & mental health

These show us how supported your body actually is — how you’re fueling, training, recovering, and living.

Weight may change… or it may not.
But strength, digestion, energy, labs, mental health and resilience are real markers of health we don’t ignore.
The scale can be one data point.
Let’s not forget all the others. 💛

Making time for resistance training week by week truly yields results. 💪
It’s not about perfection, it’s about showing up, progressing intentionally, and letting your effort compound over time.

🦴 Your muscles and bones respond when you challenge them safely and consistently.

Save this as a reminder to honor your body this week.

Share it with a friend who needs motivation to keep showing up.

Perimenopause and menopause aren’t a motivation problem. They’re a hormonal shift that changes how your body responds to food, exercise, and recovery.

Too many women are told: “This is just aging.” The truth? You don’t have to settle. You deserve guidance that actually works for your body, and your life.

🙌🏻🫶That’s exactly what our HYB team provides:
• DNP Bekah → hormones, labs, and medical support
• RDN Megan → nutrition that fuels your metabolism
• Exercise Phys Kim → strength for bones, muscles, and longevity
• Mental Health Therapist Camille & Lyndy→ guidance for support, strategies and therapy

Snack or meal? Let’s make this easier.

This question trips a lot of people up — not because it’s complicated, but because most of us were taught to second-guess hunger.

Here’s the simple framework I use (and teach clients):

Look at timing first
• If it’s been 2 hours since you last ate and
• it’ll be 2 hours until you eat again
→ think snack

If it’ll be longer ~3–4 hours
→ think meal

Then build for steadiness
Whether it’s a snack or a meal, include:
✔ protein
✔ fiber-rich carbs
✔ fat
✔ some color

The goal isn’t to choose perfectly.
It’s to stay fueled enough that energy, mood, and cravings stay steady.

If this decision feels hard, let's chat.

Food decisions don’t need to be this stressful. 💛

Your body isn’t broken, and it’s not failing you.

As an exercise physiologist, I see this every day: people doing more and getting less because they were taught that intensity equals results. It doesn’t.

Movement is a tool. When applied intentionally, with enough recovery, hormone support and adequate nutrition, it builds strength, supports hormones, protects bones, and improves long-term health. When it’s used as punishment, it just adds stress.

Honoring your body means training in a way that works with your physiology, your season of life, and your goals, not against them.

Over 50 years of life.
More than half of them spent as a nurse.
And most of my greatest lessons didn’t come from textbooks—but from living. 🤍

As a nurse, wife, mother, sister, friend… and now grandma… here’s what this body and this life have taught me—especially as we continue to fine-tune our New Year’s intentions:

✨ Our body is our paintbrush.
What we do with it becomes our work of art.

✨ Our body is the least interesting thing about us.
Our love, character, and how we show up matter far more.

✨ Fueling our body kindly with nutrient-dense food is a privilege.
Not a punishment. Not a moral test.

✨ Daily movement nourishes both body and soul.
It doesn’t have to be extreme to be powerful.

✨ There are no “good” or “bad” foods.
Food is neutral. Guilt is optional.

✨ Workout besties make everything better.
Community is one of the strongest health tools we have.

✨ Life will always be busy, stressful, sad, and hard.
The magic is learning to notice joy in the small, ordinary moments—like sandy feet and tiny arms wrapped around your neck.

✨ How well we love, live, and serve in our human suit is the real goal.

That’s the heart behind Honor Your Body—health that supports a full, meaningful life… not one that shrinks it.

💬 Tell Us:
Which of these lessons do you need to hear right now?
Or what is one thing your body has taught you over the years?

✨ The secret isn’t the medication—it’s the support. ✨

Honor your Body has many tools to offer our patients to our patients to help them achieve their health goals.

For some, GLP medications can be a powerful tool, BUT they work best when you’re not doing it alone.

At Honor Your Body, our patients don’t get a prescription and disappear.
They get weekly guidance from a full professional team.

🤍 A nurse practitioner to guide safe, effective dosing
🤍 A registered dietitian to protect nutrition & muscle
🤍 An exercise physiologist to support strength & metabolism

We adjust in real time—dosing, nutrition, exercise, and side effects—so progress feels sustainable.

And this is the same approach we use for all women’s health needs:
✨ hormones
✨ supplements
✨ metabolism
✨ energy
✨ long-term wellness

Research shows that combining weekly professional support with regular lifestyle guidance and medication leads to better engagement and outcomes for patients using GLPs-supported care compared with standard approaches — especially when care is proactive and personalized.
