Gerald Lee LeMaire

Gerald Lee LeMaire, 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his residence in Cow Island, La. Funeral services officiated by Deacon William "Billy" Vincent will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan. He will be laid to rest at LeMaire Cemetery.

Gerald was an avid sports fan. He grew up playing baseball and even continued to play in his early adult years. He enjoyed watching LSU, The Saints, and kept up with the Kaplan Pirates scores during Friday night lights. He is a Veteran of the US Army and proudly served our country as a Light Air Defense Artillery Crewman (MOS) at Fort Polk, Fort Bliss, and in the Vietnam war.

He had a love for horses, Corvettes, and a good meal, especially at his beloved mother, Pearly's house, famous in our family for her gumbo. On Friday nights you could spot his truck at Hebert's where he would walk in, and the girls knew what to bring to his table before he even sat down. He was a charmer. He was a tough man, but behind the exterior, he truly had a heart for his girls, and his grandchildren alike. He fought until he couldn't anymore, and will be missed by many, as we hold his memory in our hearts.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. The visitation will continue Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 8:00 AM until the services at 11:00 AM.

He is survived by his three daughters, Melanie LeMaire of Kaplan, La, Katrina LeMaire Touchet (Scott) of Kaplan, La, and Lana Damaris Touchet (Jason) of Maurice, La ; three siblings, Faron Keith LeMaire of Conroe, Tx, Janet Merritt (Aaron) of Abbeville, La, and Gavin LeMaire (Jessica) of Angie, La; the mother of his children, Dorna Suire of Kaplan, La; seven grandchildren, Brendon (Bailey), Chance (Olivia), Gavin (Gracie), Elizabeth, Trent, Braylon, and Titan; three great granddaughters, Stella Rose, Jensi Lou, and Nora Jane; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, George "Cliff" LeMaire; his mother, Mary "Pearly Touchet"; one sister, Elizabeth "Liz" LeMaire; and one brother, Ivan Wayne Fusilier "Papas".

The family would like to extend a special thanks to The Vermilion at Eastridge, Our Lady of Lourdes, Heart of Hospice, and the friends who cared for him along the way.

Arthurine McDaniel Sirmon

Abbeville-- Funeral services officiated by Reverend Cynthia Luquette will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Abbeville United Methodist Church honoring the life of Arthurine Sirmon, 99, who passed away on November 14, 2025. She will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery. A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville on Saturday, November,15, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 5:00 PM. The visitation will continue Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 2:45 PM when the procession will depart for church.

Arthurine McDaniel Sirmon was a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose life was richly woven with family and friends. Known for her kindness and vibrant spirit, Arthurine loved fishing, cooking, golfing, traveling, and entertaining and was always ready to dance the night away, especially on margarita nights. Alongside her husband Claude, she explored every state in their camper, creating memories on the open road.

As a proud member of the Butte Larose Ladies, Arthurine delighted in the lively camaraderie of her ladies-only club, always ready to hoot and holler in joyful celebration. She was predeceased by her closest friends and "Three Musketeers," Mathilda (Mrs. Mott) Simon and Mary Prejean-families lovingly imagine them already cooking a goose for Jesus in heaven.

Born the eldest daughter to Harry and Exodie McDaniel of Gueydan, Louisiana, Arthurine is survived by her sister Barbara, along with many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. She married Claude R. Sirmon at age 23, and together they made their home in Abbeville, Louisiana, until Claude's passing in 1992. Arthurine and Claude had two daughters: Claudia Sirmon and Rachel Trahan.

Claudia and her husband Rick Reneau have one daughter, Michelle Hooks (John Hooks.) They have three children-Amelia Rodriguez, AJ Rodriguez, and Sean Hooks-and two great-great-grandchildren through Amelia. Rachel Trahan, widow of Glenn Trahan, is mother to Ryan Michaud and Jeremy Trahan.

Though she had two daughters of her own, many families-including the Simons, Prejeans, Scelfos, Perins, and LeBlancs-embraced her as their beloved Momo, a testament to the warmth and love she shared beyond her immediate family.

Arthurine was able to live the final chapter of her life at home, surrounded by love and dignity, thanks to the devoted care of Rachel S. Trahan. And somewhere beyond us now, she's surely dancing again-margarita in hand, smiling that big, beautiful smile that made everyone feel like they belonged.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Arthurine’s name to Abbeville United Methodist Church, 213 N. State St. Abbeville, LA. 70510.

All funeral arrangements are being conducted by Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville (337) 893-4661.
