April is Adenomyosis Awareness Month 💛
Adenomyosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows into the muscle wall of the uterus — and while it’s similar to endometriosis, they are different conditions.
• Endometriosis occurs outside the uterus
• Adenomyosis occurs within the uterine wall
• It’s also possible to have both
Symptoms can range from none to severe, and in fact…one of the biggest challenges with adenomyosis is that some people experience no symptoms at all — which can delay diagnosis. Despite being common, it remains under-recognised and can have a significant impact on daily life.
Awareness matters. The more we talk about it, the more people can access the support and care they need.
