West Houston Psychology recently welcomed area youth for an empowering self-care seminar designed to help teens navigate the real pressures of life. From school stress and challenging friendships to family expectations, participants were reminded that life is lifeing and self-care matters.
Teens stepped into a space created just for them, where they explored practical tools to support their mental and emotional well-being. The experience included an Affirmation Room filled with positivity and confidence-building activities, a Social Media Balance Room focused on healthy boundaries online, a Music Therapy Room that highlighted the power of rhythm and reflection, and a Relaxation Room designed to calm the mind and restore balance.
The seminar concluded with guidance from Saudia Turney, LMFT, who led teens through breathing, meditation, and nervous system regulation, followed by a guided breathing meditation. It was an uplifting and impactful experience that encouraged youth to pause, recharge, and walk away with tools they can use every day.
