Nuchal Translucency (NT) Scan – First Trimester Screening

The Nuchal Translucency (NT) scan is performed between 11 weeks and 13 weeks + 6 days of pregnancy. It measures the fluid at the back of the baby’s neck to help assess the risk of certain chromosomal conditions such as Down syndrome and Edwards syndrome.

A normal NT measurement is reassuring, while an increased NT may require further evaluation. Early screening helps doctors monitor the baby’s development and guide the next steps in prenatal care.
