Hi! 👋🏻

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve utilized this space and I have missed it! I’m still here, and while this internet space has been quiet, Shine has still been doing some exciting things this year!

I’ve been given opportunities to

✨ complete no waitlist autism evaluations
✨ offer professional development trainings for church programs, private preschools and non profit groups wanting to know how to better serve the families they work with
✨work side by side with individual families overcoming challenges such as toilet training, aggression, lack of independence and more

I remain so grateful for every single family and organization I’ve been able to work with since starting Shine in 2024 and I’m so excited to see what the new year brings.

❓Did you know❓

Over 30% of the assessments completed by Shine this year were for individuals 16+ years of age? AND that over 80% of those were for women?

“Only 20% of autistic girls are diagnosed before age 11 while 50% of autistic males are diagnosed before 11. More often, females are diagnosed later in life due to differences in presenting symptoms .”

What an honor it has been to work with adolescents and adults who have taken steps to recognize their strengths and struggles and to seek answers regarding their own potential neurodivergence.

For some, their child’s diagnosis has led them to question their own behaviors and the similarities they notice.

For others they’ve just felt “different” than their peers but not quite understood why. They’ve been able to mask or imitate others in social situations but experience extreme burnout as a result.
