There are a lot of misconceptions about therapy.

And they often keep people from reaching out for support when they could really benefit from it.

Therapy isn’t only for moments of crisis, and you don’t need to have all the answers to begin.

It’s a space to explore, process, and grow at your own pace with guidance and support.

If you’ve ever wondered whether therapy could help you (or your child, relationship, or family), we’re here to answer questions and walk you through the process.

Let this be your reminder that you don’t have to start the new year strong.

It’s okay to start it rested.

If you’re beginning January feeling tired, unmotivated, or still catching your breath after the holidays that doesn’t mean you’re behind.

It means you’re human.

There’s no rush to have everything figured out.

Moving slowly, giving yourself grace, and easing back into routine is still progress.

Rest is not a setback it’s part of the process.

As you find your rhythm again, let this be your reminder: gentle beginnings are still powerful.

Sometimes, the most powerful shifts begin with the words we speak to ourselves.

These New Year affirmations to bring you into 2026 are here to ground you, encourage self-compassion, and support your mental and emotional well-being as you step into what’s next.

🗣 Progress looks different for everyone and that’s okay.

🗣 I can rest without guilt.
🗣 I choose self-kindness over self-criticism.
🗣 I am worthy of support and connection.

Starting therapy can feel like staring up at a mountain.

Especially if you’re not sure where to begin.

The good news? You don’t need a crisis, a perfect reason, or all the answers to take the first step.

Consider this your mini guide to starting therapy in 2026.

Here’s what to expect, how to get started, and reassurance that support is available every step of the way.

Step 1: Think about What You Want Support With

Therapy can help with:
- Anxiety or stress
- Big life transitions
- Relationships and communication
- Parenting challenges
- Emotional regulation
- Feeling “stuck” or overwhelmed

Step 2: Reach Out
- Submit an inquiry form
- Call or email our office
- Send us a message

Step 3: Get Matched With the Right Therapist

We’ll help connect you (or your child) with a therapist based on:

- Age and needs
- Therapy goals
- Personality and preferences
- In-person or virtual sessions

Step 4: Your First Session

Your first session is a chance to:
- Share what’s been going on
- Ask questions
- Learn what therapy might look like for you
- Set goals at your pace

Step 5: Progress Takes Time

Therapy isn’t about “fixing.” It’s about understanding, growth, and support.

Some weeks feel big, others feel quiet. All of it counts.

So whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your relationship, or your child, our professionals are here to provide compassionate care.

We offer both in-person and virtual sessions to meet you where you are.

Save this post to revisit when you’re ready and reach out anytime to get started.

The holidays can also be a lot for kids.

New sights, sounds, people, and routines which can be exciting and... overwhelming!

The holidays can bring out the best in us… and sometimes the stress in us.

Family gatherings, financial pressure, travel, jam-packed schedules.

It’s completely normal for couples to feel overwhelmed.

And when that happens, healthy communication is one of the strongest tools you can use to support your relationship this season.

Here are some simple ways to reduce tension, set expectations together, and stay connected even when the holiday chaos hits.

1️⃣ Plan Expectations Early
Talk through:
🗣 Which events you’ll attend
🗣 How much time you’ll spend with each side of the family
🗣 What matters most to each of you

2️⃣ Set a Budget Together
Money stress peaks during the holidays. Choose a spending limit you both feel comfortable with for: gifts, travel, and events.

3️⃣ Use “We” Language
Shift from “you always…” to “how can we work through this together?”

4️⃣ Protect Your Traditions (and Create New Ones)
Discuss which traditions feel meaningful and which feel draining.

It’s okay to modify or skip traditions that no longer serve you.

5️⃣ Take Breaks When Tension Rises
It’s okay to pause a heated moment.

If the holidays bring up stress, conflict, or communication challenges, couples therapy can help.

We’re here to support you with compassionate, judgment-free care.

Here are a few simple mental health tips to help teens stay grounded and supported during the break. 💙

If your teen is struggling, overwhelmed, or just needing a place to talk things through, our therapists are here to help.
