Honoring Officer Jacob Candanoza
End of Watch: December 8, 2024

Today, we pause to honor and remember Officer Jacob Candanoza.

Officer Candanoza served the Terrell community with dedication, courage, and compassion. Beyond his badge, he was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a dedicated servant to the people he protected each day. His kindness, steady presence, and unwavering commitment to others continue to leave a lasting impact on our department and our city.

We remain grateful for the time we had with him and for the example he set as an officer, colleague, and friend.

To his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him — you remain in our thoughts. We will never forget his service, his sacrifice or the legacy he left behind.

Today, we pause to honor and remember Officer Cooper Dawson EOW 11-26-24. We are forever grateful for his dedicated service, his courage, and his unwavering commitment to protecting the community he loved.

Officer Dawson served with pride, integrity, and heart. His legacy continues to live on through the lives he touched and the impact he made every day he wore the badge.

To his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him — you remain in our thoughts. We will never forget his sacrifice.

Today, We Remember Officer Cooper Dawson

Tomorrow many of us will gather with family and friends to give thanks and reflect on the blessings in our lives.
But today, we pause to remember the loss of Officer Cooper Dawson.

Officer Dawson was a man who raised his right hand and swore to serve.
A man who wore the badge with honor and upheld the promise to protect.
A man who put on the uniform each day declaring, “I will try my best and give my all.”
And that is exactly what he did.

Time moves differently for each of us—sometimes in the blink of an eye, other times so slowly it feels like the day will never end. What remains true is this: time is precious, and it is never guaranteed. It is one of the few things we cannot promise one another because none of us truly knows how much of it we are given.

Today, we remember Officer Dawson and the impact he had on our lives.
We are thankful for every fleeting moment and every long day he shared with us. As we gather tomorrow with our loved ones, we lift the Dawson family in prayer and give thanks that they continue to allow us to be part of their lives.

We also give thanks to all who serve. May God bless you and your families. You remain in our thoughts and prayers.

GPD will be hosting a candle light vigil to honor Officer Cooper Dawson. This will be in remembrance at the one-year anniversary of him answering his last call. As a Department and Community, we remember him.
