This social media thing is tough to keep up with, what with all the other things going on around us. Ferris Bueller said it...“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Ive posted before on love...the importance of love...but what often gets missed is the definition of love. Im amazed...AMAZED at how often I can ask that question of people that end up having no idea what it is or how to describe it. I believe in the simplified version. Love is 2 things. 1-Love is a choice. I get to choose to be loving and you have no say over it. and 2-Love is unconditional acceptance. Unconditional acceptance allows me to love everyone...to just accept them as who they are. I don't have to like them, I don't have to agree with them. I just have to accept them. From our own perspectives, we are all uniquely qualified to know ourselves...to understand ourselves...and to accept ourselves. Start there...with self love. We ALL are who we are...and we are who we are for reasons.

Grief is normal, individual, and should be seen as welcome. Grief is not to be feared. Imagine loss without sadness. Grief is beautiful in that it validates love.

It would be no exaggeration to state that children’s internet usage will have soared during the coronavirus lockdown. However, with increased use unfortunately comes increased risk and many experts and leading authorities in the media are warning of the dangers around online grooming.

Hello all. I know these are rough times for a lot of people. Just want you to know that we are still here and available. Our office remains open and we are taking on new clients. We will work with people on session cost. We sanitize the commonly touched surfaces of the suite every two hours and require everyone to wash their hands before entering. We offer phone and video sessions as well. If you dont require counseling but might just need some direction on wellness exercises that might help, give us a call. Most importantly...we just want people to know that there are still services available and if not with us, we will work with you to try to help you find someone that is best/better suited to help. Be strong...there will be better days ahead.

I'm going to straight-up re-post this image from StraightUpRecovery. Simple but powerful message. You are in charge of one person on this planet. If you put your happiness in someone else's hands you are at their mercy. Even in a partnered relationship it is on you to be able to identify what you want, adequately express that to your partner, and then live a partnered life that ensure both partners get what they want.

Well worth a viewing. Julie does a great job. The only thing I would add as a separate complimentary issue (and one that applies to men and women) is that it is critical for people to have and develop their own identity, beyond 'roles'. When external situations change your role, you need to be able to be confident and happy with that beautiful person staring back at you from the mirror.
