Meet the staff Monday! Paul Mueting, PA-C
Owner | First Care Medical
Raised in a large family in Nebraska and shaped by the spirit of the 1970s and ’80s, I grew up with a strong sense of adventure, fun, integrity—and style! Like most of us, I wear many hats, both literally and figuratively, and I take each of them seriously.
I’ve spent my life serving the communities that helped shape who I am. After graduating from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 1997 and earning my Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2001, I began what has become a 25-year career in medicine.
For 14 years, I worked in Orthopedics, gaining extensive experience in surgery, spine care, joint and fracture management, and sports medicine. In 2004, my wife Mandy and I moved to Kearney and made it our home. That same year, First Care Medical was established. I joined the practice as a provider in 2012 and quickly grew to love the work, the community, and the mission. In 2023, I purchased the practice with one clear purpose: to preserve small-town values, keep care affordable, and protect personal relationships in an increasingly corporate medical world.
Mandy and I have been married for 30 years and are blessed with four children—Lydia, Steven, Eddie, and Evan. We recently celebrated our anniversary with a pilgrimage to Rome alongside close friends, a meaningful reflection of the faith that anchors our family.
Outside the clinic, you’ll find me riding my motorcycle with Mandy and friends, camping, and enjoying the peace of the outdoors. I’m a lifelong fan of movies and music, listening to everything from jazz and blues to pop and rock. Lately, I’ve been enjoying a healthy dose of nostalgic ’80s rock—if you get the chance, go see the tribute band Hairball; they’re a must-see. I’m also a loyal Red Sox fan and a proud supporter of Husker Athletics.
My faith is the foundation of my life—as a husband, father, and healthcare provider. It guides how I lead and how I care for every patient. As Colossians 3:23 reminds us:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
It is an honor to serve the Kearney community, and I am grateful for the trust my patients place in me every day.
