Happy 2 year anniversary to Kathy, RN Care Coordinator!

Kathy Shueey was born and raised in Hastings, NE and graduated from Central Community College in 2000 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. Kathy has a diverse background in healthcare, with experience working on a General Medical and Vascular Surgery Unit, as well as in a Progressive Care Unit. She has also served as a Charge Nurse and Quality Nurse Specialist. While most of her career has been based in Lincoln, NE, she has spent the past six years in Hastings. Kathy joined SCBS in February 2024. Outside of work, Kathy enjoys spending time with her husband and their son, attending her son’s games, and taking trips to Lincoln for shopping.

Happy 1st anniversary to Jessica, Transportation Specialist at Opportunity House!

Jessica joined SCBS Opportunity House in February 2025 as the Transportation Specialist. Before joining the team, Jessica held a variety of driving positions and developed a passion for helping others. Jessica enjoys getting to know clients, building relationships, and watching them succeed. Born and raised in Grand Island, Jessica resides with her five children and one grandson. Outside of work, Jessica is active in the recovery community and values spending quality time with family. Together, they enjoy camping, riding motorcycles, kayaking, tubing, attending church, and spending time together.

Congratulations to Bobbi, Community Support Coordinator for Kearney, on her 18th anniversary with SCBS!

Bobbi earned her Associates of Applied Science-Human Services from Central Community College in 2004. She started working at SCBS in 2008 in the Day Rehab program at Unity House, transferred to the Community Support program in November 2016 and in 2021 became the Community Support Coordinator.

Congratulations to Brant, ACT Worker, on 26 years with SCBS!

Brant started working for SCBS in 2000. He has worked in Community Support, Residential Psych Rehab., Emergency Community Support, and now works on the ACT team. Brant has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska, Kearney. Brant is an instructor for Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, is a certified FORTE trainer, and is also a Team Developer for Self-directed work teams.

Brant, thank you for all that you do for SCBS and our clients! You have been an integral part of this agency for so many years!
